  • ... one of the prettiest guitar solo of the last years...

  • Sounds like John Mayer meets Dave Matthews. Pretentious.

  • I am convinced that Nels Cline could save the planet with his guitar, if an astroid were rushing at him while he was playing this song I firmly believe it would stop seconds before it hit him.

  • @bkrhodes Better than that- if an asteroid were rushing toward Earth- all we'd need to do is have every radio station on the planet play this song and all the population would sigh and think- "that was beautiful- i can die now" and they would, and no one would complain or be afraid.

  • i have only started listening to wilco in the past year or so, and had only heard of Nels once before hand from the work he done on stepbrothers, but i think i have found my new hero. He has all the traits of a great guitar player. His own incredibly unique style, Great tone and use of effects for cool sounds,(maybe most importantly) The chops to match any shredder or jazz player out there and a great ear for a une and melody. Simply put, Nels is the man :P

  • That's so strange to say that Radiohead and Wilco are the best bands. There is many others which were at least as good....

I love both bands but it's shame to forget the some others from the 90s like Pavement or Blur and many more.......

  • @wevegotafileonyou That's weird*. my english is awful

  • Wilco will be remembered right up there with Radiohead in terms of pushing the envelop in contemporary music.

  • @darkmoon66 I'm inclined to say that Radiohead is the best British band and Wilco is the best American Band

  • This reminds me of Tom Morello in Springsteen's "The Ghost of Tom Joad."

They both take over a great song and do something amazing with it.

  • falta el final(

  • kinda really semi friggin amazing

  • amazing song and Nels is especially amazing on this tune.

  • Sweet !

  • jeff tweedy speaks to our souls

  • There are no words for how wonderful this song is. I only just recently discovered Wilco. Where has this music been all my life?! Each song is better than the last. I'm convinced Jeff Tweedy is one of the world's most flawless songwriters, right up there with Thom Yorke. Wilco is one of the few bands that renews my faith in modern music.

And, though everyone else has already said it... what a freaking incredible guitar solo!

  • @Elchsgeist

I had exactly this same experience when I heard this song for the first time three years ago. This renewed my faith in RnR :-) Had the chance to see them live on stage twice this year - amazing.

  • OMG!

  • The song defines music in my mind.

  • Every time I hear that one riff, I start singing Gin Blossoms, "Anywhere you go, I'll faaaaaawwlow you down.."

  • My god - what a great song. And that guitar of Nels Cline's soars, baby, soars. Was that heaven I just heard?

  • nels...my ears thank you

  • JAPO IMPROBABLE

  • 2:30 mess up haha, but still wonderful :)

  • This solo is like Nels Cline's penis

  • @juanlu88 Nels must have a great looking penis then!

  • 4.05 se enamoró Tweedy ☺

  • Best Guitar solo ever.

  • magnifico!!! apart from the bloody missing end grrrrrrrr

  • all hail nels cline

  • So amazing. Calming.

  • this is my favorite guitar solo ever.

  • This is beautiful

  • yeah, way to cut the fucking ending off...

  • when i listen to this solo i get the same feeling i get when a girl tells me it's ok to jizz in her mouth :)

  • @jdroker dude that has to be the funniest comment ive read in ages , thanks lmao

  • really? closed captions?

  • va bien que esté subtitulado, para los que el inglés lo llevamos flojito... alguien sabe si está gravado en el Razmatzzz?

  • loving it, loving it...can't stop listening this song..

  • Wonderful o sea maravilloso!

  • I'm in love with this song at the moment.

  • 4:22

  • Nels is God.

  • The lead singer looks like a combination of Liam Neeson and Paul Gilbert.

  • hahaha, Liam Neeson! That's a new one. I've always sensed his snarl, but haven't quite put my finger on it. When he was in Tupelo he was such a spry young man.

  • Oh! I got it. It's Corey Feldman from the Goonies and Stand By Me. Put some glasses on Tweedy or take them off Corey and blend a little Liam in there and you got it.

  • This is just as cool and sweet as it gets.

    Like a contemporary Pink Floyd.

  • @cquillen11 yeah, they also remind me of The Band at times too

  • true measure of a really good song, is one that you feel, it doesn't necessarily even need words, and this one has beautiful intent that speaks with my soul

  • 2:54 !!!

  • uffff that solo!!!amazing.beautiful melody

  • What is it about this band? by far one of the best in the last 20 years. they wow me every single time.

  • Sweat sound to my ears!!

  • Where the heck did the official vid of Impossible Germany from Lollapalooza 2008 disappear to? It was on youtube for a bit then just went away...what gives?

  • I could listen to him solo forever... Also I agree with your name

  • 5:03

slide master... i nels cline is a genetic mutation... no one can be that good at making stuff up on the spot!

  • Incredible. When they all solo at the end... epic

  • Bravo bravo bravooo!!!!!! 5/5 and fave!!

  • My favourite song!!!!!!! WILCO is teh best!!!!!

    (Dinho, Brasil)

  • Wilco has never tried to get too fancy as so many Indie bands have. Wilco and Fountains of Wayne are the two best Indie to date.

  • of come on , the shins , wtf!

  • an odd pairing

  • Hi yukkie:

Why Wilco and Fountains of Wayne are "an odd pairing"?

  • the band that produced "stacy's mom" and a folk rock band hrmmm

  • "Stacy's Mom" (great song tho it is) is not the only superb song by FOW. There are many and many are on Y/Tube. FOW and Wilco are Indie bands first, yukkie.

P.S. Personal fave FOW are "Barbara H" -

-one of the GOAT and "Hackensack"-guaranteed to make you cry. Also, try "Someone To Love"--super-great story.

  • @lumpagogo

Did you just call the song Stacy's Mom "superb"?

  • You see, usie-9, some of us don't listen to corporate radio so we didn't hear "Stacy's Mom" 10,000 times. Yes, it is a superb song but not super-great. "Barbara H" is super-great. "Impossible Germany" and "Jesus, Inc" are also superb but not.....

  • @lumpagogo

I don't listen to pop radio stations or any of that, so I've only heard the song a few times (certainly less than times you have), and I still don't think it's anything more than a mediocre pop song aimed at teenage girls.

  • This is pretty much Nels Cline's song. Jesus.

  • Nels seemed to steal the show a few weeks ago.

  • @bobjones864 You're fucking all right

  • tweedy is hands down the smoothest stummer out there....

  • Such a great song. The solo is nothing short of amazing....and what a riff.
