  • @ArmourCody i think that elijah smooth is kb alter ego.

  • Why can't I find Elijah Smooth ANYWHERE??? I can't find him anywhere but with this song....

  • @ArmourCody Its called google.

  • @lalo92243 IT SAYS 1 1 Six

  • Hey people I don't mean to be a bother. I know a lot of other underground artists do this to get some sort of fame off their youtube account but please take time to check out my page and please subscribe/add to me. Feedback is appreciated very much! I'm another underground rapper from MN but I don't really care for fame since I'm doing Christian Rap. Now If you're looking for something/somebody different, I hope I'm the right candidate for you! Become a supporter, thank you.

  • #real talk ... it's all about the Christ in the rapper

  • I think that KB could have named this song, "I SHOULD play the Background" and did the hook like "I should play the Background, I should play the Background/ BUT I know sometimes I want to be Lecrae...." But that's just my opinion.

But KB If you're reading this, this is just a fan suggestion, I love you bro, keep repping the Lord unashamedly :).

  • That was deep. retweet!!! He crazy but everything he said is true!

  • LOL i had this mixtape but i've never heard this song? wooow. This is too real. I love KB's heart for God. The chorus just smacks it tho. LOOOOOL. Wow. Man. Hits hard. Soli Deo Gloria. Fall back, God is in control. We play the background. Amen <3

  • Dude said," If you a Christian rapper, then be a Christian rapper. Don't put the rapper first and throw the Christian after....... That is like my favorite line from this song.

  • "i cant play the background cuz i kno sumtimes .... iwanna be Lecrae, or maybe Trip Lee, Lee, Lee, or Tedashii" haha God Bless you bro

  • It's kinda funny cuz KB aint in the pic in the video hahaha

  • @Khalid93T thats the whole point of the song. KB's not in the pic because he's playin the background lol

  • MAN!! yes this is very much needed! he said if somebody dont like it u crushed for the week! wow

  • this is so true... it's hard to be a musician and to focus solely on Christ. But this song hits home. We have to be ALL for Christ. Love this song.

  • I like this song....it goes in!

  • i agree. if you aspire to be like man you wont make it because the spirit is not in your work. lacrae is successful because his focus is to praise god and reach out through his work, not aquire self fame.

  • every time i hear this song i laugh ... good job KB.

  • KB !

  • I was a bit confused when I first heard this song. But Now I see, great song KB

  • Love dis song!!!!

  • KB, way to go bro!!!! Christ 1st!!!!!

  • @DeltaTsanuk Did you listen to the whole song? I got a little confused in the beginning myself, but instead of jumping to conclusions I listened to the whole thing. Maybe you should go back and listen to the end of the song.

  • I like Trip Lee's outfit. This is a great song. My favorite are I Can't Play the Background, Lighter Fluid, and last, but definitely not least Enough.

  • I wish more rappers would listen to this song. many Christian rappers claim their life is about Christ, but all they rap about is themselves.

  • Great song!

  • be humble or be quiet haha! good song

  • The lyrics explain everything at the end. this is ridiculous if u feel this is mature or hes putting Christ second. That would be plain stupid for him to put him second and write this song. that doesnt make sense. So yall think about this! Dont judge him on what your thoughts, look at his prospective. Look at the end of the song where he shows what he means. If you look at it the wrong way im sorry but you arent listening to the song. let it go its all for God. Leave him alone

  • *immature

  • @sportswizz417 how so?

  • @tdottchickk i basically explained it for you. but at the end the lyrics state: im not dissing nobody, im coming from the heart and his lyrics come off selfish because he is explaining the point that people use their pride over using their skills for God and that he makes mistakes as well as everyone else. Elijah Smooth also talks about abiding by the Lord and letting him take the lead, its a mere example of how people are acting to what we should be acting like. BOOM.

  • Comment removed

  • Obviously some people really don't get sarcasm! lol! The song is suppose to be a joke! He wasn't being serious! Geez! Some of yall get saved, and lose your sense of humor.

  • LOVE THIS ..HIS SAYING THE TRUTH...AT LIST HE IS HONEST THAT HE STRUGGLES. GOD BLEES HIM ON HIS ALBUM

  • Did I just hear Lil Wayne at 3:03?? Haha

  • What does that tattoo on that guys arm stands for?

  • @TheKillerkaj 116 clique romans 1:16 unashamed of the gospel

  • It makes me upset that people can attack someone for praising God. Lacrae, Sho Baraka, Tedashii, and Trip Lee are praising God for who he is. I have yet to hear a song from them that promotes jealousy. I will be praying for KB, and anyone else that can't play the background to God.

  • @DeltaTsanuk HE WAS BEING SARCASTIC

  • Question: Did Trip grow by 12 inches or something in this pic? LOL! jk Love ya, Trip!

  • Ugh this kind of bothers me but hey that's just my option!

  • i really like this awsome song(:

  • is he dissing Lecrae and them?

  • i CAN play the background is better

  • This song is freaking awesome! KB is discipled by LeCrae!

  • I'm pretty sure the whole song is stating that I can't play the backround sometimes, cause We seek the whole limelight and want all the credit instead of giving everything to God. He saying he can't play in the back, cause in his heart, he wants to be like those other people. We kinda want god to take the lead, but really we want to use God as an advantage. "yeah God, you do your thing for me...as long as I still get the fame the crowds, and such." but he says wait, it's not about me in the sng.

  • Too bad Sho Baraka left Reach.

  • @CraeIsBoss when did he leave?

  • @godslittlegurl7 check out rapzilla.com they have the article

  • @CraeIsBoss why and when

  • @Suppac3rtifedSwag go to rapzilla.com theres an article about it. He says hes moving on to an uncertain but exciting new ministry.

  • Like how he ends it though, much love.

  • Dude shouldn't be trying to be better than the other rappers, rep God and keep it that way.

  • This song is soo powerful... Becuz it hits home... I remember wanting to be like 1:16 Clique. Tryna be a Christian rapper and to have a crew like theirs and all that but maan its not what Im called to do but who Im called to. Whether it be me scrubbing floors or on the stage I'll be Joyous of my Lord. KB great song.

  • @africanboybkman

I would rather scrub floors than make a verbal attack towards someone.

  • @DeltaTsanuk He didnt attack them. What are u talkin about. The struggles he mentions in his verse are the struggles he goes through as a Christian on such a platform as music. And he telling other Christians(especially Christian Rappers)not to fall into the temptation of doing the music and the promotion for the sake of ppl noticing you but to for everything you do to do it for the Lord. I dont see the attack in this. Especially since he was signed to Reach when he made this.

  • @africanboybkman

KB is jealous that other Christian rappers such as Lecrae are not just promoting God's kingdom, but getting recognition for it. Lecrae's song Background was in response to the fame that he has received. Lecrae says that he wants the background, and wants God to take the lead, and to me it seems like Lecrae readily gives the credit of his success to the Maker.

  • @DeltaTsanuk Thats ur assumption. The lyrics show he's not jealous. In parts of the verses he acts as his flesh saying things like "Trip Lee should open for me". He putting on notice the very same struggle ppl liek Pro, Lecrae and other Christians in the rap game face but then reminds everyone to remember the real reason for rapping. And trust me I know alot of Christians in urban areas who have been distracted by the pursuit of being like the 1:16 clique.

  • @africanboybkman

KB specifically says that he does not want to be like Trip Lee or other rappers like Lecrae. He does not mention that it is his flesh talking, but rather he is stating what he believes. He should be worrying about opening for God, not who will be opening for him.

  • @DeltaTsanuk Ummm dont you realize that in the song he purposely contradicts himself. AFter he says all those lines about wanting to be famous and what not he says "See thats that I want the glory for Jesus Hennesy, Jealous Selfish AMbitious SCandal but we call it ministry." In the first half of the song he was playing fleshly thoughts on can have on his platform. I mean if you cant see that u must not listen to much rap at all. Like do u think they would sign him if he was that immature. Shesh

  • @africanboybkman

I don't listen to any music that does not glorify the maker. I'm sorry if you don't hear what I hear, but I find this song as an "immature" cry out for attention. To me, KB sounds as if he is placing himself on a pedestal above other Christian rappers. Matthew 6:26 implies that we are all valuable to God, and parallels with Luke 12:7, God that God loves each of us so much that he knows the number of hairs on our heads.

Like Jesus tells us in Luke 6:29, here is my other cheek.

  • @DeltaTsanuk

Dude, he was being sarcastic in this song, its meant to be a joke. Its about how we let our flesh take the forefront. He is reminding people to check their heart. Its not a diss track. If it was, why would Reach Records sign him? He is an artist with them now.

  • @DeltaTsanuk I do not believe you have done anything trully wrong, so no judgement should be cast, simply a loving rebuke and gentle nudge toward true understanding of the situation. Listen to your brothers and do not be prideful and arrogant in your argument, for your interpretation of this song can be, (and is) wrong. I pray you will gain understanding of the true meaning behind this song, and if you dont, maybe this song just wasnt for you.

  • @DeltaTsanuk if you still have a misunderstanding or problem with this song, or anything i have said, please state your disagreement in a humble, loving, Christlike manner. Be slow to grow angry and defensive, and simply state your opinions to your brothers and sisters in Christ in a way that is humble and pleasing to God. God Bless. Keep living for Christ unashamed, 116, and never allow yourself to become content with enough Christ, always strive to be closer to Him. God Bless.

  • @DeltaTsanuk my friend, it is not a sin to be honest about stuff you struggle with. KB is saying yes, he struggled with jealousy towards Lecrae, Sho, etc, and wanted to be like them. This song is him admitting he was wrong and that's not what it is about. he works together with these guys all the time. This song was him saying that on his own, he cant play the background, because of his sinful flesh. We need God to do good, apart from him we are nothing on our own.

  • @carletopres "this song is him admitting he was wrong and that's not what it is about" should be "this song is him admitting he was wrong and that him being like lecrae and sho and playing the foreground (as opposed to background. lol.) is not what it is about." tried to keep it short to fit the character restriction, and didn't properly explain the point. sorry.

  • @DeltaTsanuk this is not an attack, just advice from one brother to another: before you present an argument or state that someone is wrong and out of line, pray, and pray hard. even if you think you know you are right and mean well, pray before you speak a word. Really listen and dissect what the person you're attacking is really saying, and dissect what you're saying to know if it is truth. Often arguments arise from an agreement turned into misunderstanding, such as your argument here.

  • @africanboybkman

Aye man we are called for many reasons

but first TO GIVE GLORY TO GOD

  • I love the theme in this song its AWESOME! I've never friended anyone on here although I've gotten invites. So can you send me one? Easier for me that way...

  • LOL

  • I luv it but can someone please explain wut this means?

  • @9510christian "if you a Christian rapper then be a Christian rapper. Don't put the rapper first and the Christian after". I hope that helps cuz thats what the whole song is about

  • @milesbrown33 Thanks for the help man.

  • @milesbrown33 Arguably best line in the song, so solid!

  • Okay. The first few times I laughed a lot but it's actually serious... "Jealous selfish ambition scandal but call it ministry?!" Hm. Food for thought...

  • 2:28 "24 followers" lol!

  • @blessedva

hahahaha I didn't hear that part.
