That car leaves such a new impression with me. As I had always thought of the Maxima as just a nice sedan with some good power, now it comes across to me, I'll sum up in a few words as a Luxury Japanese Muscle-Car! I really like what the Maxima has evolved into. Though I do kinda hope for a smaller/sportier version.

I wouldn't buy it because I can't afford it, sadly... But, I call this car "THE SHARK" because of the front lights and back design... I LOVE THIS CAR!!! NISSAN KEEPS DESIGNING cars that I like... However, I would never get Nissan again... Too many bad experiences, I would get a Toyota or Honda... Much prefer Honda... But, I do admit, AWESOME CAR! LOVE IT! I have a 2000 Nissan Altima (yes, it still runs) and that is the car that I've had problems, but I love it though and it keeps running.

As much as I am proud to be an American, when there cars start to cost cheaper and the quality improves and is better than the Japenese, it's when I will buy an American car. I have a 2000 Nissan Altime and I bet if I would have bought a Ford or a GMC car, I would have had to buy a new car because everything would have broken... With my car, I've only had to change minor things because the car is old... But my car runs fast and I love Nissan (and Japanese)!!!

It all depends on if you plan to drive the car yourself or if you have to haul your family around. The back seat on the IS250 is a joke; The Maxima is classified as an executive sedan (slightly bigger than a mid-size) and it is very comfortable for long trips. The acceleration and road feel might not be as nice as an IS, and interior noise is certainly higher than the Lexus.

i love everything about the 2009 nissan maxima and I mean EVERYTHING, but its that CVT thats preety much annoying me.i mean, no gears to change? theres nothing sporty about that!also, how do they expect the maxima to sell when the altima is basically a four-door sports car with the SE trim, engine power is the basically the same in the 0-60 case where the altima does 6.6 and the 09 maxima does 6.5,and the finally the altima offers a six-speed manual.if you ask me, the altima may be the real 4DSC

Agreed, since the 07 Altima SE 3.5 the Max has been made redundant, and this restyle looks crappy. The Maxima used to be an affordable performance front driver, now its overshadowed by the Altima and out performed by the G35 for the same cash. Im thinking the Max should be dropped, or the Altimas should only get 4 cyl engines.

No no,the max shouldnt be dropped,nissan should just look back into the late 90s when basically everything about the maxima was far from the altima.I think that when the altima gets redesigned,the horsepower should stay the same for both engines,and the maxima should get an engine upgrade to the G35s engine just like the 95-03 when nissan and infiniti used to share the same engine for the maxima.Also the maxima should get its old features like power folding mirrors and dual auto dimming mirrors.

The sticker on a fully loaded 09 is over 38K, for a fugly overwieght Maxima. Nissan really screwed up, only a sucker would buy one of these over a G35. And they still have the crappy Goodyear RSA Eagles that SUCK.

I'm with badboykilla too. I grown to love my 2001 SE/5-speed and haven't liked much of anything they've made since. Good balance of power, economy and room with the SE's heavier sway bars making handling tolerable at some fairly high speeds and much better than other stock Maxima models. Big window-visibility from the drivers seat can't be beat. No, not a true sports sedan - the suspension's never measured up to that.

The previous gen wasn't a sports sedan? I completely disagree. It was definitely a sporty sedan. I disagree that the best looking part of the car is the rear. I think by far, the front is the better looking. It's almost Volvo S80'ish and I like that a lot. The rear looks like a partially used bar of soap, not to mention it's so much more curvy than the front. It doesn't match. Overall though, a step in the right direction compared to the previous gen.

i've always owned a nissan maxima. But after 1999 they just went downhill. They turned into a basic family car.

the 95-99 style was powerfull, and super lightweight. all they do over the years is add weight and HP, which in reality makes the car feel like a truck

This Maxima is probably the best looking Maxima ever, it beats all of its predecesors in design, style, and quality, especially in the interior. I like this car very much, but I would still get the fully loaded V6 Accord instead. I am just in love with it more, and I have always been a Honda dude.

I got a Maxima 2000, runs great! never had any problem's with it, the only thing i want to do is to put Intake, chip, and BORA exaust, stock 222HP- Upgraded one 270-280HP the new one I do like it cuz it looks pretty good ig props for the Rims and i would stay with my 2000 cuz it looks better for me idk, btw 09 Max dont have stick so thats what I mostly deslike!

I have a a 2000 Maxima and has been so so. Mainly problems with the disc brakes warping but not bad. This new car looks great from the rear and interior looks sweet but I really can't stand the head lights! Also, I will pass on this because I don't want a CVT -call me old skool~

i have a 2005 maxima and i had high hopes for the 09 but .. its really not that impressive. im probably going to get some other car instead i still like my 05 maxima its way better looking than the 09. only thing good about the 09 is the horsepower!

Well hopefully the maxima will come out much better than the rest of them, and the 4dsc name is lived up. I've seen spy shots of the SE's and it seems as if they look more agressive, and have HOOD SCOOPS!!! which r coverd but we will soon see. I am hopeing they make the SE's really sporty. 6 speed all wheel drive, turbo charged, so suit the younger guys buying STI's and EVO's. If so I'd CERTAINLY buy one.

The original 4DSC Maxima was front-wheel drive. If you were a fan of that, it shouldn't be a problem here. As an owner of a V6 2007 Altima, I can testify that the D platform is an excellent front-wheel chassis. Since the Maxima was tweaked at Nurburgring, it should satify all but the most extreme drivers.
