I won't argue with you that a kid should be the top priority, but maybe Claudia's top priority should have been hiring a real hitman instead of a dirty doctor. Sonny was walking towards Kate, away from MyKill who was on the other side of the room and Sonny saw the reflection of the scope following him, not pointed at Michael. If Devlin had a clean shot he would not have hit the shelves and either hit Sonny or missed him as Sonny jumped out of the way instead of ricocheting and hitting MyKill.
