@legoarchetect short version is-Soundwave is Megatron's right hand man and tech guy, where shockwave was origenaly left on cybertron in megatrons stead to oversee operations there and relay whats going on to megatron while they work from both earth and cybertron for any plans they may have and relay any of megatrons commands to the cybertronian troops. . well in referance to the origenal 80s TV series.(if I remember correctly)

Same amount randomness as a cassette tape transforming into a bird! (Original Lazerbeak) I like how much Soundwave's robot mode looks almost identlcal to G1's Soundwave (Minus a few key differences. He even has a mock tapedeck in robot mode! :D

it has a double jointed hinge.

the tolerances are very small making it tight, but it can handle the pressure.

first flip the chest, then pull hard while slowly lifting it up.

I've been waiting for a review on this guy as he's one of my favorites of the Animated cast despite only one appearance. But dang, I'm conflicted on this.

I outgrew toys and would rather save my money for more expensive stuff like video games but I really, really, like this guy. Plus, Transformers aside, he's a ROBOT with a GUITAR! If FLCL has taught me anything, it's that robots + guitars = awesome.
