Also, although this is a bit of an absurd milieu for debate, I would like to attempt to have a civil exchanging of views without attacking the other's believes. To begin with I fully supported the removing of Saddam Hussein from power, I just believe that there may have been better and easier option than going to war. There are many others like him in the world such as Omar Hassan al-Bashir of Sudan or Joseph Kony of the Lord's Resistance Army in Uganda. Why go after Hussein but not others?
I see you've been doing some Google-searching. While you're at it, search for the amount of development and humanitarian aid Pres. Bush has sent to Sudan, Ethiopia, Egypt and Uganda. We all agree more could be done to end the genocide in Darfur, but he has helped in ending deadly conflicts in Liberia, Congo and other parts of Sudan. Also, consider the work of 100s of Christian organizations helping to build communities, and educate the youth. We all just hear what the liberal media wants us to.

Ugandans aren't developing weapons in order to wage war against us. Uganda doesn't harbor al-qaeda terrorists that want to fly planes into our buildings. roadragin - also, whether or not Hussein was bad (he was), the invasion of Iraq had nothing to do with terrorism and did nothing to fight terrorism. If anything, it helped them recruit. With the trillion dollars spent, we could have done a lot more to make the world a safer and better place.

Also, although this is a bit of an absurd milieu for debate, I would like to attempt to have a civil exchanging of views without attacking the other's believes. To begin with I fully supported the removing of Saddam Hussein from power, I just believe that there may have been better and easier option than going to war. There are many others like him in the world such as Omar Hassan al-Bashir of Sudan or Joseph Kony of the Lord's Resistance Army in Uganda. Why go after Hussein but not others?

I see you've been doing some Google-searching. While you're at it, search for the amount of development and humanitarian aid Pres. Bush has sent to Sudan, Ethiopia, Egypt and Uganda. We all agree more could be done to end the genocide in Darfur, but he has helped in ending deadly conflicts in Liberia, Congo and other parts of Sudan. Also, consider the work of 100s of Christian organizations helping to build communities, and educate the youth. We all just hear what the liberal media wants us to.

Ugandans aren't developing weapons in order to wage war against us. Uganda doesn't harbor al-qaeda terrorists that want to fly planes into our buildings. I'm certain if the general public were privy to the intelligence made available to our Commander-in-Chief, there would be a lot more support for this "unnecessary war". Later during the speech the camera catches the little girl picking at the baby's eye or eyebrow. My mother used to say, "You don't let kids watch kids," for this sort of reason. It's not "cute;" it's a child treating a baby like a doll because she's too young to know better.
This hints at the lack of parental control and supervision in that family, as does the teen pregnancy. This is not my political opinion; it's my parental opinion. I blame both parents.

Their mom just made history. She was just officially nominated as VP. What an amazing moment. Last night as we watched the speech we noted the contrast between Piper's enthusiasm and Sasha Obama sleeping in her mother's lap during the big speech last Thursday. I'm very impressed with the behavior of the 7 yr old and the 4 month old! They handled the noise, lights, and cameras like pros!

Legitimate argument? Well, first of all, this country was founded on the Christian principles, whether you want to realize it or not. Christians have a book that they use a guidance for their lives, named the Bible. The institution of marriage would not EXIST if it weren't for the Bible and as it states, that marriage is to be b/w a man & a woman, only. It is not for me to judge a person based on their sexuality, but those are the facts. What it boils down to is Man's Will vs. God's Will.

roadragin - also, whether or not Hussein was bad (he was), the invasion of Iraq had nothing to do with terrorism and did nothing to fight terrorism. If anything, it helped them recruit. Granted, we have now killed many of those recruits, but they would not have been terrorists in the first place had we not invaded. With the trillion dollars spent, we could have done a lot more to make the world a safer and better place.

They are both sincere, which is a lot more than I can say for Obama's speeches ("Just words...just speeches...!". I think Palin's speech was one of the greatest speeches I have heard since President Reagan. Piper's action was just like many others who do the same thing. I was not going to vote in the Presidential race but I think this great Lady just changed my mind. I have read a lot about all of the candidates but Gov.
