I think the song is so beautiful and honest. I see it meaning the reality of of selflessness - selfishness. We should think of "we" because it's good for "me". And we shouldn't be hypocrites about it either! I believe that a "me" who truly cares about "we" can never make some basic horrible mistakes history and individual lives have seen during the passage on this planet.
