Are these children unable to return to their mum and dads? But it is good to see there is something for them here with the workshop. And I see so much talent in their work. God bless them all.
These would be the same mums and dads who sold them in the first place... They are often even less wanted now than when first trafficked as they are of marriage age which involves paying a dowry. Their best hope is for us to teach them these kinds of skills, give them work and they will be much less vulnerable in the future. If they have an economic value they might have some kind of stable links with their families and future husbands. Otherwise they are just merchandise.
I am so sad to hear that about their mums and dads. And I am so thankful for people like you and this organization who care and want to do God's will to try to give them a future that they might not have without you. God bless you. All of you are in my prayers.
I would like to know what happens to the art work these kids do. Is it hung somewhere or sold for profit. I am seeing it is very good work. I could see a whole wall of these mosaics surrounding a fountain. It would be beautiful. Do you have a website to sell their work?
Some of it goes to childcare centres in Nepal, having been "commissioned" by supporters overseas. Some of it is sold locally in Nepal through a not-for-profit company that I have set up, "Himalayan Mosaics". We can also export. The initiative is so new that the website is still under construction. The girls are really happy in their work which is also very therapeutic after what they have been through.

It looks more like child labour to me. Ha ha! Well as long as it makes them happy, then that's great.
