@SuperEvilSquid Spec for spec, feature for feature and equivalent build quality wise, Macs cost less than the equivalent OEM Windows PC's out there. Go spec up a Dell laptop to have all the same bits and functionality and build quality of a MacBook Pro and the cost will come out more for the Dell. You have to add things like the support packages and so on or all the extra software needed to compete with what a Mac does out of the box. With Apple you buy the experience, not the bits, so to speak.

they hyped up the shell (which doesnt have shit to do w/ performance), changed/improved little to no actual hardware within, yet managed to remove firewire.

This "upgrade" sucked because it was mostly just a superficial bullshit marketing scheme based on appearances.

The later 13" MBP w/ FW etc. was something worth releasing to the market, but this version was a shameless attempt at molesting their customers wallets.

Its always a real love-hate relationship w/ apple.

That doesn't even make any sense. Have you ever used it? You have to click downwards, then move while staying clicked down. It's not impossible, but it is alot easier to just use a button.

I have a MacBook Pro ofc I use it, every day, sometimes for hours. Look man.. if you wanna click and drag something you click it with a finger and then hold it there and drag it with another, you don't hafto use just 1 finger for that, remember it's multi-touch

You must have had no idea what you were doing, i wanted to see what the hype was all about, but luckily I didn't buy one, I just swapped with my friend for a month, I was pissed off within the first 3 days, but I stuck with it for the month to see if it'd grow on me. It didn't, you can't edit anything. If all you do is look at pictures and go on the internet, it's fine, but why would you spend so much money for that? If you want to do any software editing, OSX just can't do it.

I realize that there are those who aren't crazy about it, but I have to disagree with you on that comment. You can click and right click this and you have a host of finger/hand touches with motions that perform certain commands on-screen. So pretty much, it has the most functionality of any notebook computer where the trackpad is concerned. I'm still waiting for a tablet Mac but knowing Apple, they won't release one unless it's almost perfect.

The Macbook doesn't support blue ray. Often DVD players that don't support blue ray can still play the dvd's but don't play them at the high quality blue ray is meant to have. I'm not sure which is the case for the Macbook Pro.

There are some options to purchase blue ray hardware and connect it to the Macbook though.
