You know it's kind of easy to know when a piece is Gabrieli style, u can tell by his style of music of call and response and that, i think minor neighboring tones.
@JoeShmoe102 It depends on whether you're using an alto, a tenor or a bass sackbutt. I'm a little hazy, but I seem to recall that the tenor sackbutt uses the same positions as a modern tenor trombone. But even if the pitches are a little off from the modern instrument, the relative positions should be the same.
@DeadlyDeadlyBeees I did google that just one minute ago, and got relevant infos (but I might miss some sort of joke in your answer, English isn't my mother language, as you might have noticed)
@PunjabiHut Hahahah, i've heard that before, lol. ^_^ :P my cousin had used it one day pretending to rap in asian or indian language. Ahhhh, except instead of gurdy gurdy she said purdy purdy.
It's too fast in my opinion

are each note and position on a sagbut the same as on a trombone?

@JoeShmoe102 I personnally don't know, but I've found that by googling
sackbut fingerings
you'll get a little information about these instruments.

@AlainNaigeon I'm afraid that if I googled sackbutt fingering, I would also get a lot of information that I don't want to know...

Brilliant! Best recording of this work on YouTube. It's wonderful to see and hear period instruments played with precision and grace. Thank you!

Belle musique. Je crois avoir reconnu des musiciens: Daniel LASALLE et Jean Pierre CANILAC.
