This is true. In the film, the song was changed in the background to tie in with the Amor Prohibido album, but that album wasn't released until 1994. Selena won the Grammy for her LIVE! album in 1993.

Well obviously in the movie they had to make it alot more emotional...If you do more research on who Selena was, she liked to keep it short and sweet, also, I watched a documentary on google video about her and she is quoted as saying " I was so nervous, I didn't want to take up too much time..." At this time, Selena wasn't as well known in the mainstream American market as she is now...
