I've got both (currently 2 whippets, 1 greyhound) and they're both wonderful dogs. A lot comes down to personality so just because my grey is a love sponge doesn't mean another grey won't be less affectionate than any particular whippet. The only thing for sure is the greyhound doesn't fit in your lap quite as well - no matter how much they try!
In the field, whippets are the master of the short course and greyhounds are the king of the long run. Both are amazingly fast!
Oh wow, you have alot. Their all pretty though, I'd like to get a whippet or Italian Greyhound. Although Italian Greyhounds legs break easily, but with good exercise I think that it's less likely to happen. Who knows?
Unfortunantly IG's and leg breaks seem to go hand in hand. I personally dontthink much of it is genetics. I think a lot of it is dietary and not enough exercise. My IG boy I had did things that I swear would have broken a leg (like us stepping on him because he was in stealth mode), but he never broke a leg.....then again he was solid muscle too.
Right now we have just the 2 IGs. I am thinking we have space for a third. If only all dogs came with a disclaimer stating they would not break any legs or catch weird diseases. Then I wouldn't worry about vet bills. :o) 2 vet bills are bad enough sometimes. When Misty broke her leg (which was horrible!) the bill was bad...But, since we don't have kids yet I figure we could get another and get adjusted to life.
I love seeing all the pups together. If you don't mind my asking...does it take alot of space to have so many pooches? I'm trying to convince my husband that we "need" another :o) Your dogs are beautiful!
love that they are so chill when they arnt in a playing mood
