Nothing wrong with London being multicultural. Anyone who went to the carnival last year will agree. Things have changed a lot in the last twenty years but London is still a great place to be and still the best place for music in the world!
My mum and dad always used to say "gertcha yer gaatcha" to each other when I was a kid. I had no idea where it came from until a few days ago until I asked my dad and he said it was from Chas and Dave. I think they made up "gaatcha" themselves though.
@tashpish No need to call him a Twat, the other leftist liberal ceep knob like you 'samalamalamdam' asked him to 'elaborate' why does he need to elaborate, open your eyes you dozy bastard.
@kiwikidsarerockinit If you've got the right to free speech, you've got an obligation to justify it. What's the point in believing in something that you'll never explain?
@CssAfc Move away from London, and, chances are, ya might well lose your London accent, in time, my friend. However, I moved from London, up to Lincoln, over four years back now, and I STILL talk with a London accent, me- (mind you, I've purposely tried to KEEP mine, there's the difference!) :)
@yidarmylad666 Have you got a Lincoln accent now, then, or just no accent at all? I've still got quite a strong London one, apparently, but I think that's only 'cos I've tried so bloody hard to keep it, since I moved up here, quite frankly. :/
My Old man's a decorator and this was his favourite word when I was a kid... He used to say 'Gercha' b4 smoking 20 Benson (Gold now) and opening a can of barley wine (Special Brew). Ironically this once aggressive saying to tell us kids to bugger off has now became more 2 year old daughters Favourite. Well Done Chas and Dave!
get the eels an a larger an light on the bar an put the ol chas an dave on an im tellin ya its gonna ick of proper party style - love you geezers cant beleive ya broke up - come back to essex we need some old school
I think "Gertcha!" means "Be'ave yer-bleedin'-self!", or summin' along those lines, 'cos, for the record, my old Grandad used to say it to me all the bloody time when I used to go round and stay with him and me old nan as a kid, and I started bein' a naughty boy! :/
brilliant!! if you dont like chas and dave theres somethin seriously wrong with ye!! would defo much prefer to see them on the telly than these talentless fuckwits in x factor and shit!!
if any one says this is in the old days. then fuck of back to those days.

Chas and Dave are not just 'Cockney knees-up boys', truly two of Britains finest Rock 'n' Roll / Rhythm and Blues performers.
As for 'Gertcha', if this song doesn't make you want to have a good time, then you've got a hole in your soul :D
