Though I do not think the police intentionally did anything wrong, and given the situation the swat officer had no choice but to defend himself, I do think the police should have looked at this as a failure UNLESS he was holding someone else hostage. @russellmcbee and giving solepower to a group of people with high powered weapons is not smart eaither. if a gun is used against you you then infact have the right to use one back but because you think somone may have a gun is not grounds enought to assault them with one no matter what they do. there are plenty of other things out there that can be used to protectyourself.

Though I do not think the police intentionally did anything wrong, and given the situation the swat officer had no choice but to defend himself, I do think the police should have looked at this as a failure UNLESS he was holding someone else hostage. Perhaps it was the best choice, but was it really necessary to place the swat team so close?
The police really seem far to eager to engage in force these days. The man would have eventually tired out; not sure if cops are paid by the hour?

No, he was disturbed (in the head), he would have gone to a ward, been stabalized and then let out in a few months and gone on state assistance. He would have been taken care of... as it worked out, his internals were disturbed by a 9mm, and now he's taken care of. Either way, we're better off for it...
