It's been about 10 degrees in Dunedin these last few days and I am wearing a hoodie and my big winter coat so it is starting to feel like a northern hemisphere Christmas haha. Christmas is about family for me, but this is gonna be my first christmas without my sister (she's overseas) so it's a bit sad :( but this is also my first christmas as a whovian so I'm really excited for the Xmas special yayy :D :D
for me it's working 12 hours wearing a respirator, hardhat, earmuffs and safety goggles in a dusty aluminium smelter

also, shush you! christmas can be summer too! christmas IS moderately charred barbecues and ridiculously long evenings and sitting under the shade with childhood friends waving off sandflies and sticking to plastic seats and dying on a regular basis due to the heat and watching christmas specials on christmas eve at 10 30 when the sun is still setting!
Well here it's not summer at all but it's still 15°c in the afternoon :/ It has never been that hot on winter around here! :s It has never snowed for Christmas either! I dream of a white Christmas!
Christmas is highly associated with winter and snow and all that here in the US. I didn't realize it was the same in the rest of the world but I guess it kind of makes sense. I guess I assumed it was the same holiday but different traditions for different countries?
That must have been really strange for you as a child to have to watch christmas specials that are all about snow and you don't have it because *apparently* it isn't two seasons at once in nz. anyway, this video was really well done, i enjoyed it. <3
