Scientologist. Don't believe me, I have a link to a video on Youtube to a rare 1982 interview which features Harvey Silverglate arguing points with Ron DeWolf(L. Ron Hubbards son) on a local talk show.
He mentions abstract laws being used to go after unpopular people. True. Then he says Muslims are unpopular. Unpopular with whom? Whos going after Muslims? Even when they are actually committing a crime we all would agree is a crime (publicly plotting to murder their fellow Americans) they get a free pass. If anything they are the darlings of the PC crowd now in charge. They are the new favorite victim group of the left.
I'm familiar with this technique, having been in a relationship with someone in human resources with a large company. The policy was to micromanage all employees and track every single tiny violation of rules, every single minute of tardiness, then keep good records. That way, they could fire anyone at any time. I do not consider this a massive conspiracy, but the idea of being able to take down any potential enemy or loud voice you disagree with that arises is powerful and cannot be ignored.
This guy is an incredibly poor speaker. It really detracts from what he is trying to say.
