While my guild had real trouble with this guy before, after patch 3.0.2 he's a doddle. And actualy quite fun to fight. And thankfully we don't get that anoying blood elf healing herself all the time.

ZA is suppos to be done after kara its not some tier 4 raid lol. And please.. did some of you except 2k crits _FROM TANK_!? Your e-peenor didnt grow at all you 2-button DPS, sorry. This is not 3.0.2 where prot warriors do nice DPS.

Anyways.. Spirit bolt is shadow damage. You can use Shadow ward for it. It protects most damage he does. You can also use shadow prot pots too to ease healers "pain" but with CD its not "spammable". Imo hex is bit harder than Zul'jin itself. ZA is my fav raid so far.

This boss was a pain in the arse for my guild. We had to keep the Blood elf sheeped throughout the fight because we couldn't interupt her heals often enough, and even when we did that we just couldn't keep the tank up! We got him down to 12% before our druid tank gave out and we wiped. The shadowbolt thing he does is realy anoying cause of the delays in cast time you get.

something to think about... I as a TK/Hyjal geared pallytank was able to tank Hex Lord, and 3 adds at the same time, until all 3 adds on me were dead, then we kept the last one CCed as I then proceeded to successfully main tank Hex Lord with few problems at all... But then again my dodge rating is extremely high, and the moroes trinket is helpful for the use effect.

kara is made for when you got your normal dungeon gear to tune it up for za and so on

bud heroic gear is evin bether then kara gear atleast for hunters only the bow is nice

Last night my guild tried to down the Hex Lord this way and were not able to get him past 40%. We changed our strategy and had our mt tank the boss on one side while we dps one add at a time on the other side of the room. after all the adds were down we took down Hex Lord last. We found this way to work better. It prolly just depends on the group configuration somewhat, but we found taking down the adds to work better. so try whichever way you like and good luck.

It comes down on how good your CCers are at keeping things down. For example our locks seem to have some difficulty with keeping banishes down simply because you can't rebanish over the original spell unlike sheep and shackle. Due that reason I always insist on killing the banish as well, but generally if we have a sheep and a shackle we leave those up.

Consecrate originates from him... Molten earth on nightbane is more of a void zone type thing.

Buuuuut...that changes nothing...and as the guy said, just move him, not just move yourself. My guild did it our first time last night with 2 pallys, the consecrate was no sweat. Soul bolts suck though, try bringing shadow resist, or get priest/pally buffs.
