This is an excellent camera. Professional quality photos which I have transferred to canvas and painted. By the way, you can use rechargeable batteries, so I don;t understand that comment. I would highly recommend. HDMI is great to view pics on my HDTV.

Actually, using rechargeable AA batteries is more effective. I used the ones that came with it. It lasted for 2 days. I used2 sets of Panasonic AA Alkaline Batteries and each lasted fora day. So, it would quite cost you a lot. As of now, I use the Energizer rechargeable batteries. And each charge lasted for more than 4 days. For me, this is a small disadvantage of the Powershot SX20. You need rechargeable ones. But overall, picture quality is great!

for a refund. It is deplorable how fast it ran

the batteries down. There are no adequate tutorials or manuals for my satisfaction. I took some photos and a few movies, never got to figure out how to view everything. Now My bunnies are on a card in some God forsaken refund bin.

The little clips made out of plastic or rubber are frightning to say the least, yes you will be wearing them out ,common sense tells me so, if not your fingernails will, say NO !

the sx20 is delivered (just delivered!) with 4x alkaline batteries, but OF COURSE you can use recharchable batteries which also last A LOT longer than normal batteries (something like 340 vs 760 photos).. so just buy some recharchables...
