That's not a matter of ATI or Nvidia. They don't make such decisions. The AIB partners decide about such stuff.

Yes you can replace the 5750, but be warned that you will find yourself cpu limited in quite a few occasions.

The 6850 is equal to the 460, so whatever rocks your boat. They are both 25% faster than the 550.

Nvidia recommends 450W PSU for the 460 and AMD recommends 500W for their 6850. That's actually strange considering that the 460 is the higher TDP part, but that's what their websites instruct.

More wattage is better especially if you go for the 6850.

In some games that require more cpu power, the game will be slower than it could be with your gpu. That's what a cpu limit is. Don't get me wrong, you will be fine for the most part, especially if you are not shooting for 60fps gaming.

Even though you posted this a month ago, I'd still like to say: I'd go for Gigabyte.

Not saying Gainward aint good, I wanted the Gainward one myself, too!

But I found out the cooler is not as good as the Gigabyte one.

Besides that, the Gigabyte one seems to have a faster memory clock.

(And the Gigabyte one is on sale @ pixmania-pro, so I went for that one, I just ordered the parts!)

In what game/s have you seen stuttering? Have you tried turning vsync on?

@toutagamon Yes almost everything on the card is on the highest.....Crashes to desktop with no error message. This only happens to BFBC2 when catalys AI is on...vsync in the game is also on....

What kind of temperatures are you getting on your card? Mine is 63C running something like firefox and then ultra setting on Starcraft 2 it goes up to about 80C. Thats seems a bit too hot? Im not sure.

@toutagamon exactly the same as yours. I think some of the other makers did a much better job at cooling than Gainward. Not sure about EVGA but MSI Hawk especialy seem to have a better system. I dont want to fiddle with the card too much so I probably resort to getting a better case with a great internal cooling. Can you let me know what your highest tempreture is at load pls?

@Swaggerboyyy i did play games already but i cant max out , still waiting for new motherboard processor and ram it works fine so far , and you can just overclock it yourself to 800 mhz if you feel a need to ,has an easy tool to do it yourself. the fan is running at 40 % constantly here (lowest speed) and it only registers 30°C so you got some hearoom

My Sparkle GTX460 768mb idles at 26-29c and goes up to around 55/60c in Crysis or Metro2033, but i have my case open, you should do the same!

I am using a Nexus Silent Modular 850W PSU (RX-8500), which was cheap and decent psu. It works great so far, with a 4.0Ghz Q9550 and the 460 at 850Mhz. So far so good.

I also use a Coolermaster Silent M pro 1000W on my primary rig and an Enermax Galaxy 850W on my third rig. All good psus. The coolermaster is the best one, so if you can find an 850W Silent M one, go for it.

I'm starting to think that the diffrence is tiny. i.e the power socket being a differnt position and may be a diffrent cooling system but everything else being exactly the same. Either way this looks like the best card to get and I'm dying to get something good to play Starcraft 2 on ultra settings.
