Sorry, i was cleaning the drool off of my keyboard.

  • a camera dealer was telling me you can put your card in your reader and go to "opanda" and it will tell you information about the body of the camera. Is this true?

  • True but if we remember correctly, it's for PC. For Mac, EXIF Viewer (free) will do.

  • @Lilkiwiguy87 Thanks for your reply! I am a MAC and the site did have a link for EXIF Viewer. Not sure how to work it...

  • Take a random photo in JPEG format (any settings are fine as long as it's shot in JPEG). Insert the card into reader and click, drag, and drop the JPEG file onto desktop. Launch EXIF Viewer app. Click, drag, and drop the JPEG file into EXIF Viewer app. Voila.

  • @Lilkiwiguy87 - okay, I will try it! Thanks!!!

  • Hi, I tried to look up some tutorials on the Nikon D100 here but none showed up? Help?!

  • You're looking at D100 tutorial right here. Just different names and layouts but still same functions.

  • @Lilkiwiguy87 But are there any more/others i could watch?

  • This is only Part 1... Perhaps continue to Part 2? There are also Nikon Autofocusing Tutorial (Part 1, 2, and 3). Have you read your D100 user manual for further reference?

  • @Lilkiwiguy87 That's what my dad said to me when he gave me the camera- read the manual.

But obviously I haven't so was wondering if you had any videos/tutorial especially for the D100.

    Thanks :)

  • We're siding with your dad on this one. Go read the user manual then everything will make a sense. Our channel is full of tutorials that apply to all DSLRs (including the D100) but you need to read the user manual to understand the basics. Otherwise, none of our videos will be helpful.

  • @Lilkiwiguy87 PLEASE HELP me I have the D80 and when i take a picture the review comes up and the picture flashes like the white turns black and the black turns white, over and over. Please help Thanks.

  • That's what happens when you don't read your D80's user manual. Your answer is on pages 61-63.

  • Hi, Likiwi,

Sorry, I am thick!!!!!!!!!!!!!, it sounds quite confusing.

Let say> I had custom settings for indoor shooting in Shooting Menu Bank B and want to assign Func Button to remember this this Shooting Menu Bank B. So I can push Func Button to rotate between SM Bank A SM and Bank B. How do I do this.

    Thanks.

  • Sorry, you can't. D700's Assign Fn. Button do not have an option to change Shooting Menu and / or Custom Setting Menu custom banks. The options are listed on pages 320-322 in your user's manual.

  • Hi Likiwi,

I am new to the Nikon D700, and do no quite understand how to assign the Fn Button for the custom settings in order to recall the custom setting by pushing the Fn Button. I well be grateful for you help!!!!!!

  • Have you read pages 320 to 322 in your D700 user's manual?

If so, well, you are given two options that you can choose one or use both: Func. Press and Func. Press + Dial.

For example, set Func. Press for Spot Metering. Press and hold Func. button to switch to Spot (temporarily, until you release the button).

For example, set Func. Press + Dial for LiveView. While holding down Func. button, rotate the command dial to enter LiveView mode. Repeat to exit LiveView mode.

  • pause that camera just said d3h!??!?! umm come on now

  • Come on now, read the video description: it's a joke.

  • I have to admit. I'm a Canon guy. but everytime I see your camera I lust after Nikon. :B

  • Hi Kiwiguy, this question is on a tangent to this video but i ant find a related vid so here goes .

What programme can be used to get the number of shutter actuation's info from a D3.

There are ones mentioned on several forums but no one seems 100% sure.

  • For Windows, Opanada iEXIF (web-based app, free)

For Mac, EXIF Viewer (standalone app, free)

Take a photo in JPEG file format, import directly onto the desktop (do not use a program to import images), open the image in one of these apps and look for Shutter Actuations". Voila.

  • Thanks , your info is good, there's not much you dont know.....Now, Einstein's theory of special relativity whats that all about ?? ( Ok , thats for the physics / astronomy forum, see you there)

  • lol nice vid i like the music gives it a sense of mistery and mafia

  • my sandisk Extreme CF 8 GB writes up to 60 mb/s - 400x

  • Uhm, yes, we're aware of that. This video was uploaded last year, SanDisk's Extreme lineup got upgraded late of last year.

  • Hi, I bought that card 12-03-2010. It's very fast I can tell you! Super card!!

  • will the D300 be similar to this?

  • Yes, the D300 have similar menu options.

  • Excellent vid, wonderful music!!!!!

  • i love the d3, so exspensive though. So your telling me the speed for conintues shooting can be slowed if you dont have the right memory card? i have a d200 and it uses an 2gb memory card. is that good.

  • Yes, that is correct. Capacity size of memory cards (2GB, 4GB, etc.) have absolutely nothing to do with continuous shooting modes because you need to pay attention to the writing speed of memory cards. SanDisk Extreme III and IV have quite high speed writing of 30MB per second (Extreme III) and 45MB per second (Extreme IV) writing speeds.

With today's new Expeed processor, it increases the writing speed to memory cards. Avoid Lexar at all of that matter - it is not trustable and faulty.
