I lost interest in American Idol after Fantasia won and was looking for something different. I like how they're singing traditionally and not singing western songs, but all this pop star bullshit with the dancing and all is just corny, especially because the contestants can't dance for shit and the background dancers are horrible. Is this considered cool in India or do people find this sort of ridiculous as well?

All indian movies are musicals, and singing and dancing come together. So it`s part of the culture... not to mention makes the show more entertaining than a person just standing there and singing.

What are you talking about? Dancing and singing do not come together. Yes, you can dance and sing at the same time, but you can also sing without dancing and dance without singing, which is why AI is a SINGING comp and SYTYCD is a DANCING comp.

Also your knowledge about Indian movies is limited as not ALL Indian movies are musicals. I have many non musical Indian movies in my own personal collection.

Maybe, the dancing wouldn't be so bad if the dancers didn't suck. They're horrible.

Some Bollywood films are w/out songs, but the MAJORITY are musicals. The odd film w/out songs (Black/A Wednesday) will do well. Look at the top earning films year after year-they're 95%+ musicals! Ex: Love Aaj Kal, Jab We Met, JTYJN, RNBDJ, Delhi 6, ETC..
