However, it is not unreasonable to guess that the plan WAS for the pilot to fly into the pentagon. Best question is this. Why, when the planes (commercial or military?) flew into the towers, the wings were able to slice true Structual steel and yet no wing slices in the pentagon. The WTC's were specifically designed to withstand the impact of a Boeing 707, the biggest plane there was at the time they were built. The construction general manager estimated they could withstand multiple hits. Fire doesn't bring down steel buildings and 757's do not fit in 6 ft holes.

A Category 5 hurricane, around 180 MPH. 250 - 180 = 70 300 - 180 = 120

So the Pentagon was built to withstand 70 - 120 MPH higher total wind-speed, then the WTC was.

Look in Wikipedia: there were dozens of people that saw an airliner crash into the pentagon. Yes, a couple say it was the size of an executive jet, but the great majority say it was an airliner.

The hole you see is from the fuselage which actually is quite narrow. The fuselage and wingspan width combined is 125 feet, but not alone. A 757's FUSELAGE ISN'T 43 feet tall, that is combined with the tail.
