its strong to trye to fix it

but it doesnt loke like that way so its teribel

  • This Is Not Funny....At All! #Dissapointed

  • 0:56 - 0:58 .... why does everything now have to have this mechanically processed, materialistic "cutesy beautsy" GLEE sound to an otherwize heartfelt song ?!!?!?!?!

  • I really think that anyone downgrading this video seriously needs to step back and think, the song represents what were trying to do for Africa and is apart of a show which has humour, for the people slagging this video what you should really do is understand the amount of work that goes into a show and rehearsal time etc before making any comments or better still post a reply of your company doing this song for it to be slaged by others

  • our school did a back to the 80's concert

  • i think this is amazing! the one who sings 'there's a choice we're making..' is a beautiful singer!

someone help me out, who's who in this?

  • I think you are right sistersmf

  • Im not quite sure how people are hating on this. I honestly thought it was AMAZING. I was just in a performance of Back to the 80s. We did Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now (Which was definately draggy.) I think the blocking and choreography on this is great, not to mention the vocals. The man in the front left (Whom I assume was Mr. Cocker) was a bit of comedic relief, but the rest were just knock-dead, spot-on beautiful.

  • lindoooooooooooooo................

  • wtf , is this a joke?

  • Did that guy at the back left corner have a lighter open at 4:40

You're not supposed to do that you great numpty! Let the fans do that! X3

  • To all haters of this video!

Everybody who sing this song are trying to help Africa! Even if this concert isn't for Africa the songs is sprewading the word to help them.

  • Some of these folks cannot even carry a tune let alone before we even discuss how they butchered one of the all time greats.

  • wtf??

  • great team (the team),great song (the song),and together rmade great act

  • Actually quite entertaining.

They're not trying to be better than the original. Singing beautiful songs doesn't ruin the original!!!!

  • irritating!!!

  • eeee

  • ouch...uptempo maybe and not so embellished

bre eh..eh.ehd........Hey, I can't sing either so big whoop right?

  • This is excellent. funny but great. I remember when my high school choir. The Goldsboro High School Touring choir sang this song for our last concert in 1985 before we graduated. Under the direction of Mrs. Eleanor Harris, the greatest choir director that ever lived. RIP Mother Harris.

  • i like this,,,,i love it.

  • AMAZING! Great vocals! :3

  • Wake me when this is over!!!

  • Brah this is not cool

  • great song ! great team !

  • @lupalone

    it's... terrible

  • i loved it good work guys light and fun

  • Holy cow. Many of these people aren't even trying to sing, and while that's fine for certain songs, this is not a good song for that. I also feel that they play the era too much, almost to the point of parody, which again, is never a good idea with a tribute song such a We Are The World.

Interestingly enough, the ending I feel is better than the original ending. It sounds sincere and beautiful. Still, it doesn't save the performance from being either cheesy, inappropriate or both.

  • who in their right mind thinks this is a good song?? they are totally making fun and killing the reason behind why USA for Africa started in the first place.. if i met them i would kick ass.. they need to be beaten. AM I WRONG?

  • fabulous!

  • Im doing this Musical this friday!!Im am Kirk Keaton!

  • Comment removed

  • they killed the song

  • This is a horrible version - it seems like they're making fun of the whole arrangement than actually paying tribute to it.

  • Sedap = beautiful

  • da, awesome!

  • Uhm, we did this song for our Spring Concert last year before MJ died, and this song version sounds amazing [words and arrangement],

Only i dont get the way it is sung in lots of duets instead of all together,

and i also don't get the guys high squeaky voice and the cracky one, whats that point?? lol. Would have sounded better the choral production, but very interesting.

    And some very beautiful voices.

  • Awesome!

  • what did they want to do? i don´t understand that`s to bad

  • Good work, many nice voices. I wonder how many of harsh critics here could sing themselves. This performance is not perfect, but it sure is pleasant to listen to. Thanks for sharing this video with us.

  • Thank you historiands. The best critic is one that is incapable themselves I agree.

  • andrewgjazz, the best criticism is one that is objective and friendly. It usually inspires us to improve ourselves and strive to be better. Everything else is nonsense we should ignore.

  • @historiands I agree with you. It's quite a good performance. Fees a bit like a parody combined with tribute. Some good voices. The only thing I can't stand is the wailing - I purely hate it it's never good. The girl at 1.33 had a good voice but too week, the girl after sang really good here. Otherwise it was a great concept. The only wail working in this song is after all Cyndi Lauper's in the original. As I said this is a great concept, bit of a feel-good version. Thumbs up to you and singers.

  • @Sistersmf I am not one of the singers. Just someone who appreciate the effort, and love the music :)

  • @Sistersmf I'm pretty sure this is from a performance of the jukebox musical Back to the 80's, which is why it feels like a parody. The whole musical is a parody. :)

  • @kaydeeisdead Yes maybe, I don't know. Though I am studying music and I am going to become a vocal coach and choir tutor. I am one of those few (unfortunatly) who just can't tolerate performing without putting down so much effort and rehearsing before, and I feel that when other just go up on a stage unrehearsed that it is, frankly, quite nonchalant.

Not saying these guys are like that, but it's not the best of performances and I know t could have benn by far better. Still, good attempt.

  • OH MY GOD THIS IS TERRIBLE!

  • This is good

  • What have these kiddies ever done to try and help ease poverty anywhere? I bet most of them don't even know what this song was about. It was probably just a chance to dress up and show off.

  • This was a professional production of a stage show called "Back to the 80"s". Yes it was a chance to get dressed up and show off and get paid in the process. The show is a send up of 80's music and High School Musical/Grease. It was so popular it had a return season!

  • BAD BAD BAD BAD BAD BAD JAJAJAJAJA

  • this is really good

  • naja das originale ist besser

  • i love it

  • wow

this cld be its own remake

    awesome

  • I am guessing by her rude face, that the girl with the yellow shirt, has never heard the original. I think the older guy at 2:34 did a good job imitating Joe Cocker. Her making those faces like he was an asshole ruined the whole thing for me.

  • One of the few covers I have seen that captures the spirit of the original. Amazing job and harmony of voices! Love it :D

  • BETON cum s-ar spune pe la noi,..o versiune foarte reusita, artisti adevarati.... AWESOME

  • What a great grasp of the English language you have. In fact they do suck... and were very good at it. Hava nice day!

    Hope it comes on you2be!

  • its really good performance. bravo...

  • it s means like a joke, but finally for a performing

in live it s really good!

  • You got it right. By no means was this meant to be serious. Thank you for your kind comment.

  • WOW!!! thats brill!!!! =P!

im doin this show in october =P!

  • ok...voices are very good....but i think nobody can make fun of such good artists as the original ones who sang this song were...there are plenty of other artists and songs to choose for making fun of them..so i think it wasn't a good choice...sorry guys....some of you have great voices but please find other way to entertain...cause this was hillarius...it was a bad choice:-((

  • they weren't making fun of them, this is the first song from the second act of a play called "back to the 80's". in the play they're singing this song to raise money for their prom night. they have a host of 80's songs throughout the whole play, as they match the story line. and this version of the play was fantastic. get your facts straight.

geewiz some people cry about everything.

  • god it's part of a PLAY it's not supposed to be insulting look up back to the 80s if you dont know it!?

  • i think they are makeing fun out of good a musicians and they fucked up a good song!!!

  • Ignorance is bliss...

    Your thinking is correct!

I am relieved you realised that this is not meant to be serious... Top points to you!

  • yes, 'wearethe80s' musnt be the 80s at all, he should be named 'wearethewankers'

ooohhh my play on words is brilliant :P

  • She is Eileen .... Yes! Well done.

  • Did everyone have to audition to get into this show??

  • Yes this was an adult production and everyone auditioned.

  • ooh ok that makes sense :) xx

  • is the woman in the purple jumper with glasses playing Eileen??

  • It seems like it

  • wow

  • im doing this show at theatretrain :) in july whoop x

  • Im doing this show!!! this is well good they are really good at singing

  • Das war echt gut!!! Kann man noch mehr von ihnen sehen?????

  • that snot the original cast, is it? i thought so at first but then i saw how the two brannigans werent the same...

  • I love it! Yes, it's a farce but there no harm in doing so!

  • our skwl and anuthr skwl in twn made this musical this yr!!! omg it was brill...we did grease last yr its brill! xxxxxx

  • This is one of the best videos I've seen from a Back to the 80's! production. The vocal talent is just phenomenal, although it did seem like it was making it a bit of a farce!

Are there some cast members missing? There doesn't seem to be all the girls there..

  • look up "back to the 80's at the arts and culture center" <---very good!

  • this was great

  • It almost seems like they are mocking this song. One word: Sacrilege

  • Its not really mocking, its almost just them creating the enthusiasm of teens in a school concert. I'm doing this show, it seems that way a bit I gues but it more mocking the OTT of enthusiasm and characters,

  • im doing this musical atm the performance is at the end of this month its very gd. I hope we can pull something close to that .awesome g job!

  • Such a high talent!! Was it a high school or theatre based school?

Emotional. Very very very good. CONGRATS
