  • mines not fuel injected either

  • Hahaha. Mine drug like that for about 2 seconds and then fired when it was -20 out. Needless to say I had to get a jump, the only thing unreliable bout my truck is the battery. Gotta love chevy

  • hes got tbi not fuel injected

  • my GMC is an 1988 sierra single cab longbed and it has a carb 350

  • @cornbreadwillie

    yeah 87 and under

  • my 92 has a carb but it starts up a lot better

  • How can a 92 have a carb? GM completely phased out carburetors on all of their vehicles in 1987. Is yours custom?

  • The heavy-duty GM stuff had carbs until 91, when the old body style was completely phased out.

  • up until 1986, yes. after that no

  • That makes absolutely no sense:

    1. The brand of the vehicle has nothing to do with whether the motor is carbed or FI.

    2. Chevy's and GMC's are exactly the same! If "most GMCs are carbs" then most Chevys must be too!

    3. If I recall correctly 1986 was the last year GM used carbs in their motors. This truck is fuel-injected.

  • It's actually Throttle body Injection...

  • lol my ex 79 diesel passat/dasher starts faster than this at that temp. hahaha

  • peice of shit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 1988 chevy truck is fuel injected, dont need to pump gas pedal

  • flooded it

  • @mopar1011 pumping is cool stfu and go away.

  • @mopar1011 Aftermarket maybe.. GMC didnt convert to Fuel Injection Til 94 Jackass....

  • @MrBombastic16 Not true. My dad has a '87 GMC jimmy 5.7 STOCK fuel injection. I have a '92 GMC sierra 5.7 STOCK fuel injection. And if that isnt enough, im a mechanic. Been makin a livin workin on cars and trucks (including older gm cars and trucks) and trust me, GM was fuel injectin stuff way before '94.

  • @cichlidkeeper89 Good for you, aftermarket engine, 87 did not have 5.7's.... especially not a Jimmy... Sorry...

  • @MrBombastic16 Yes they did. The full size GMC jimmy came with 350. 350 TBI was the standard powerplant in '87. Now, if were talkin the "S" series trucks, then no, they did not come with a v8.

Even the vin plate riveted to the dash of my dads 87 says its a tbi 5.7..... what are you gonna do now? say that it has an "aftermarket vin"?

  • @mopar1011 He has Throttle Body Injection, not EFI.

  • great video, but i agree, GET WELL!

  • Thanks for the video, man, but dang - get inside, get bundled up, get some chicken soup into you, take some nyquil and sleep off that cold!!

  • New battery!!!!!! lol my 88 fired up in less than 3 sec in minus 33C with no block heater mind you. Also not a good idea to rev it a bunch for at least 3-5 min in the cold.

  • To the people who are bashing him about pumping the gas, my old chevy is like that, it will crank forever, i just pump it and it starts when the throttle gets just right, which is always different

  • @FordsSuck95 Exactly doesn't matter if the car is even fuel injected its going to crank different with the throttle open for example. Pumping on a MPI car wont do anything but if you hold down the gas it will crank differently

  • @FordsSuck95

    Fords are cool.

  • agree with 91CTD. pointless.

  • why would you pump the gas on a fuel injected truck while cranking? that makes it harder to start. then rev the piss out of it when its stone cold? dont get me wrong these TBI motors are bulletproof but come on now..
