  • I was at Cannon when the first 5 F-Models came in from the Heath. Then I went to Heyford for a whole 20 months. Went back to Cannon into Black section. Point is, never got a real chance to work the F model. But I don't think it had the same Nav Data Entry Panel (NDEP) and Nav Data Display Panel (NDDP) as the D model.

Can any of you ole F model guru's clear this one up for me?

Been retired for over three years and still miss that jet. Worked the D, AMP'd and non-AMP'd E, and EF.

  • Thanks for posting this, soniccruiser! I sat in that very cockpit many moons ago while the 0412 was stationed at RAF Lakenheath! What an awesome jet and great memories!

  • Great vid! Say, where is the data link pod control panel? Would you film it? Please film also the right console, the dashboard to the right of the viewer and the switches on the left side of it!

  • I spent 5 years in and out of the D and F model cockpits. That brought back a lot of memories. Thanks for posting that, I so miss the Aardvarks!

  • Hi Starhawk73, Would love to see how your model turns out. The F model has quite a different interior than any of the B models had, but I am sure this still gives you some feel to how it looks. The B had Escapac Ejection seats and no flight controls on the R/H side. The production B models would have had the Crew Module but at the time of First Flight the CM was not yet certified. Good luck!

  • At Plattsburgh AFB?

  • I am really glad you like it. The display is a tribute to all of you who designed, maintained and flew the Vark!

    Best regards!
