  • I followed these instructions and did the best flares I've ever done. I allways thought you had to go as high as you could in the front. I would struggle so hard. I made the mistakes they were talking about. After I followed the directions everything changed. All the bboys were saying that I made it look so easy. At many points in my bboy life I felt like I would never get flares. Now I know I will have them and that is a dream come true for me! Thankyou so much for adding subtitles:^)

  • do u guys know how to make ur leg straight b/c i been practicing for 1 year and i got it but i cant keep my leg straight..its bend..i try to point my toe out but it didnt help

  • For all of you learning flares, this tutorial forgot to mention one thing. When they said to have your left leg "float" when you start a flare, think of it as trying to kick your face. You know how they said, "right leg must be stuck near your ear"? That's exactly want you want to do with your left leg when starting flares. This may or may not help, but for me I noticed that it gave me air. My hips went up, making this move so much easier to pull off than with the way I was doing it before.

    well, it is essential indeed but you need to be careful not to kick to high in the beginning, only enough to give you minimal height in the front, otherwise you will collapse if you are too high in the beginning.

    BTW

    they forgot to mention another thing, in order to bring your butt up in the rear you must push the ground with your left hand (clockwise) very important!

  • I....am in my first day in my life learning to be a breakdancer.When I think about it,flare ain't so hard.BUT,easier said than done.

    No matter what,before I go into this I must add more strength to my hands and stretch out my legs.That's the first thing to do.

  • practicewithout shoes first. then when u understand the move better try doing it with shoes....thats wat i had to do. trust me, this works with any power move.

  • yes. your abs will eventually get stronger from the flares with shoes on your feet, and your body will adapt.

  • just remember that flares are almost EXactly like windmills. u gota keep ur legs in a V shape at ALL times.

  • flare is a powermove that takes a long time to learn, just kep practicising

  • your supose too swing your legs not kick your face cus your just ganna go up then down but if you swing it your ganna have the wipp and get more

    when you can flare up to 5-10

    just repeat it every day and without noticing that you are already building strength with that.

    and after a month try to put some combinations with it.

  • my right leg dont get high enough so i then sorta stop. do u sorta push with ur right hand to shift weight to ur left hand and lift ur right lieg up so get height? THANKS

  • you're probably not swinging your hips OR you're not kick ina circle. flares should feel smooth and you should never feel a full pull in any other direction other than OUT (by keeping your legs strait. )

    there are basically 2 kicks in a flare.. the right leg and the left leg kick the same. your right leg needs to sweep and then go to your face and then your left needs to sweep and go up in the back.

  • remember....dont bust your ass on doing power....practice like 2-3 times a week like for 1 hour each....plus make sure your not soo tired when training....you wanna hav enough energy to practice (good) attmepts instead of 1000 bad attempts.....and if you injure yourself...STOP training for awhile even if u start sucking again, power takes months to learn and years to master sadly (-.-)

  • idk ive been practicing flares alot and sometimes only flares on days and i use to practice 6 hours .. but ahh its not helping i cant get good ones but i will say training only flares wont help you need some warmup exercises (handstand pushups etc..) and flex more on the leg that you have to kick high..

    just be calm and fun

    powermoves is a stressing moves,,

    co u have to control ur mood when ure training this kind of moves,,

    good technique and good body preparation would be good to train this moves
