  • NO FUCKING WAY THIS SONG IS SANG BY PAUL MC FUCKING CARTNEY ! I HAD NO IDEA !! I remember this song from when I was little my mom used to always play it. I thought this was sang by a black dude lol WTG paul

  • one of his best!!!! LOVE IT

  • <3 <3

  • Cant believe I love this song cuz it was being played all da time by my parents...now I just can feel it as sexy piece of music with a lot of gut feelings and deep emotions: YOU ARE GONNA BE MINE!!!! Ooooh man, this song is totally freaking sizzling hawt...psszzt! Ouch :~P

  • isn't this a diss for John Lennon :D

  • @scssrs Apparently it was, and the funny thing all my life I thought John Lennon sung this track. It was only a few months back I found out it was Paul / Wings that sung this.

  • @scssrs I think that this was a reply to John Lennon's song How Do You Sleep, which was directed at Paul, because he was very annoyed with Paul, and actually even hate him at the time, but this song which was directed back to Lennon is almost a love song, so even when John was hating on Paul, Paul still "loved" John. correct me if i'm wrong

  • @jeremyatemyface I guess you are right

  • @jeremyatemyface actually ram was released before imagine, so how do you sleep was a reply to "too many people", and this song is mocking the echo in john's singing

  • 9 DAYS TO GO!!! MACCA AT THE M E N!!! <3

  • I saw him last night in Paris Bercy ♥ It was a very great show !

  • Sir Paul Sure Whent Further Then John Did

  • I could see this as a Beatles song, with Lennon singing along with him!

  • The entire band looks totally wasted in the opening photo !

  • Close your eyes and imagine John sitting behind the keyboard and singing it.

  • @CardinalJunky John non aveva le potenzialità vocali per cantare questo brano, john era baritono questo è un brano da tenore. è un brano da genio che poteva scrivere soltanto il nostro Paul

  • @CardinalJunky Why would I imagine John singing it when I can imagine Paul singing it?

  • @TheBeatleboy64 I don't give a shit how you listen to it. If you want to understand that Paul wrote/performed that as perhaps an homage to John, OK....if you don't.....well that's OK too.

  • A blues LOVE Song.....not done too often....that's Paul!....He can do anything!

  • sounds like he did a lil bit of a john lennon sound.. can you imagine?? being the two best artist in history and then your seperated?? they HAD to have influenced each other.. Had to have..

  • @Rebel4evermore Well well well... I totally agree with you, love this song.

  • @PetrusPeru1 I just started liking Paul. He's grown on me and hearing john and paul interviews and looking at it all, they were both great and it was just bound to work out the way it did and thats fine..

  • @PetrusPeru1 I just started liking Paul. He's grown on me and hearing john and paul interviews and looking at it all, they were both great and it was just bound to work out the way it did and thats fine..

  • I was growing up to this tune, it was one of my dads hoovering albums on a sunday, when he was allowed choice of music.............Hee hee. brilliant tune!

  • I could literally sit here and listen to this all day. it's like everything I love rolled into one. Roll it!

  • Oh yeah! Grabbing my sheesha. And having a fine time :) :) :)

  • Saw Paul do this in Chicago and he played guitar on it...was amazing!

  • @gpradzin Sunday or Monday night?

  • @ Victor Janis...i agree...

  • I like so much the Beatles... But I prefer the Richie Sambora's version... ♥

  • @carolmiley31 WTF

  • gran tema de este monstruo del rock de todos los tiempos

  • Listening to this on vinyl, on my Onkyo TX8500Mk2 receiver, Phase Linear 2 series turntable, a Sure V15 stylist via Monster Cable into Bose floor standing speakers... well, my girl knew what time it was....

  • @1shot2kilu ...What are you trying to prove and to who? People like you make me violently sick.

  • I saw him in Cincy last week, I can't imagine a better concert! He sounded better than he has sounded in years!

  • Music like this, just makes you bloody smile from cheek to cheek doesn't it? of course, a great big fat spliff helps................

  • Paul & Friends must have had some fine, fine, fine herb back in the day. If I could have one wish to come true, it would be to be a part of Paul's circle in the 70's & 80's and do it over again and again and agian

  • I used to always skate with this song

  • seventeen trolls must have square wheels

  • yeah me too. chicago he? was amazing. so much better live, and even this is amazing.

  • I saw him play this live last night

  • @NoSevenProductions So errrr, I'm seeing him on the 5th of December. :D I cannot WAIT!!!

  • @silverysongs wow today, have a great concert!

  • @GustavoVillarBatera Thanks! I did, it was amaaaaaaaaaaazing. I couldn't believe that it was Paul McCartney standing there onstage, it was surreal. I had goosebumps throughout most of the concert lol.... If you haven't already, you should go to see him, it is SO worth the money! The man is a legend.

  • @silverysongs aaah saw him in paris too 5 days ago, you sort of dont realise when it happens but then you listen closely to all them songs uve been knowing by heart for years....and u realise its being played live in front of your face. Yes thanks Paul u absolute legend for doing this to us

  • @AcapulcoSummer71 and biggest come down ever the day/week after

  • @AcapulcoSummer71 Yeah, it's incredible isn't it? When he came out onstage I was in shock, I just couldn't believe I was there and he was there, singing those songs that I love. I've never witnessed anything like it, everyone just standing up and singing along with him. It was so surreal, it feels like last night was a dream lol

  • @silverysongs Niiicce!!!

  • @NoSevenProductions Gonna watch him in 2 days! :D

  • @NoSevenProductions So did I in Paris ten days ago! An unforgettable concert!

  • Quando essa música foi lançada, eu tinha apenas 11 anos e a 34 anos eu não a escutava. Dizem que relembrar o passado é sofrer duas vezes, nesse caso, eu não sinto isso e sim satisfação.

  • Loading...

  • Ah..The Blues by paul...dont get much better than that

  • Speechless!!!!! This is so awesome!!!!

  • Saw Paul sing this LIVE last friday<3333333 Greatest day of my life. Lost my voice! LOL

  • He tried to perform a song just like Plastic Ono Band did in the early 70. Paul loved John anyway never forget it. Paul was a Muzak writer since Beatles split off so Lennon destroyed Paul's talent. But Paul wrote some magic songs thru' the years anyway like Waterfalls, Wanderlust, Here Today, Back seat of my car, Maybe I'm amazed, and so on....never forget it.

  • an ultimate legacy of music

  • @amante1067 i disliked this by accident sorry...

  • @gdidiot98 you could like it again then

  • I actually like the way he plays it live now better than the original. more balls

  • Paul trying to out lennon - lennon

  • i play this song whenever i roll a blunt

  • let me roll what it?

  • @reverseification In the lyrics he says "My heart is like a wheel, let me roll it" If that's what you're wondering.

  • What kind of keyboard is played at the begining of the song???

  • it called tape slap

  • woah yeah i never realized how much it sounds like John's voice. woah.

  • Check out Paul McCartneys side project the fireman ie. nothing much just out of site! really great song and different from his usual stuff

  • Yes I agree with the above. Now that I listen to it, it sounds exactly like a Lennon song...cool. Roll away...-:)

  • One of my favorite Wings songs, so bluesy .......

  • I think we are one of the few bands who cover this tune. Great fun to play and sing!

  • Comment removed

  • Paul and John are the best like maradona and pelè!!!!

  • The feeling Mrs.Vandebilt to Let me roll it is great!

  • Paul can do blues also.......no doubt!

  • The lead guitarist ( Denny Laine is my nephew;s father!!!!! This is my fave.well really its hard to choose!!!!!!!!

  • Man, they look really stoned in this photo.

  • makes me wanna get high

  • @VictorJanis

    Sure, but what doesn't?

  • Just try to imagine Kurt Vonnegut (if he were still alive) trying to write a novel in the voice of John Steinbeck. As brilliant as he was, he probably couldn't do it. Simply incredible piece of art right here.

  • Lennon appreciated the nod to his style so he used the hook on the track "Beef Jerky" which is on Walls and Brdiges. He nods back to Macca on the track "Surprise Surprise (Sweet Bird Of Paradox)" which fades out to "Sweet sweet, sweet sweet love" sounding like "beep beep, beep beep yeah" from "Drive My Car."

  • Linda and Paul were lifelong stoners, and veggies:)

  • pretty amazing

  • Can you say Pablo Escobar's finest??? How bout the movie Blow??? " I cant feel my face" Because these guys didnt roll they hit a couple of lines. Look at em on the cover of the first picture.

  • I saw McCartney and Wings in 1992 in St Louis, MO> Best concert I've ever seen and I've seen plenty!

  • I love this song. The baseline is amazing. When i play this song it is louder than any other one. Never gets boring.

  • @WINGSFAN567 Bass line not baseline LOL!

  • Linda looks stoned to the bone.HA!.

  • This song is downloadable on Rock Band 3!!! I love this song especially the guitar.

  • I think I'll Hear It Again! is this famous guitar work here a Metallic Red?

  • "'Let Me Roll It' wasn't to John, it was just in the style that we did with The Beatles that John was particularly known for. It was really actually the use of the echo. It was one of those: 'You're not going to use echo just cos John used it?' I don't think so. To tell you the truth, that was more [about] rolling a joint. " Macca 2010

  • i love this song more than any other.....

  • I love it, i remember my first boyfriend, he dies by a drunken car-driver in 1974

  • @Puschel0860 When I heard this music I loved it, and then I started to read the comments... After reading yours I never heard that the same way, just for imagining the meaning that it has to you. I just think you had to know that. You changed someone's way to hear this song. Thanks.

  • POLISH PEOPLE!

doesn't this song sound to you like Elektryczne Gitary "Moje serce jest jak pies" ?

  • ive rolled it since i was 14

  • @SirBrianCabrera "me too"

  • The argument that either Beatle (John or Paul) is better than one another is just silly. Anyone can see that both of these men were incredibly gifted song writers, and it should be left at that.

  • @SixtyeightState I still think Paul was slightly better...(just kidding)

  • @SixtyeightState " You My Friend could not have said that any better. "

  • 17 people tried to roll square wheels...

  • wow, where did the time go? My uncles used to listen to this album when I was in school. now I'm 45 and this song still brings back good times. summer and playing baseball.

  • This song has been covered by Jerry Garcia and lots of others. And no, paul was not the best songwriter. He is awesome, but nothing like John.

  • Paul wrote the best songs? You are a fool.

  • And by the way, one person can roll it with one hand.

  • She does kinda look like Tom Petty

  • j'adoretres bon

  • James McCartney w/His Sisters, George Harrison Jr., Ringo's Son, Julian & Sean Lennon - as "The Beatles NEXT Generation" for 1 Night Stand on "YOUTUBE" in an private location in European Recording Studio. No outdoor concert! Beatles - the NEXT Generation DVD Album. This my Real Dream!!!!!!!!!

  • love the bass line in this song

  • Just can't understand HOW can exist haterz in such a beautiful song.. :S

  • Eigenartigerweise habe ich von dem song geträumt, nachdem ich let it roll it

    gestern gehört habe

  • @nautico9 WRITE IN ENGLISH, IM SPEAK SPANISH, AND DONT WRITE IN SPANISH, ´CAUSE I WANT TO EVERYONE UNDERSTAND, WHAT IM SAYIN

  • Paul's vocals are devastating in this song fuckin love it!!!!

  • Epic song!

  • macca's stoner song

  • 17 people are racist

  • @rebeltildeath1 17 people are just morons lol

  • its too good to listen to!

  • This is among the best of the post-Beatles Paul songs. It rocks when performed live.

  • Duduludurdurdur....Duduludurdurdur!

    Such a sick a lick! :D

  • I FREAKIN LOVE THIS SONG!!!!! :D

  • So this song has three...No,four multiple meanings? Is it about someone's ability to tell his feelings...Or is it about drugs... Is it a song made for John,or Paul telling about a person who taught him to masturbate?(well, personally I believe it isn't the last one)

  • how can anyone dislike this?? "you gave me lovin in the palm of my hand" sounds like lennon taught mccartney how to masturbate, and he sounds like lennon cos he's using same slap back delay effect on his voice.. this is my favorite song on my favorite paul album.

  • For My lfie long love and friend of WOW 42 years.

    Enjoy this ya'll

  • I haven`t heard this song in 10 years , had a radio station on and it was this song every hair in my body tingled when i heard it! I can`t believe i`ve forgotton how inspirational this song is to me! So now i have as my ringtone thank you paul for making such a beautiful song!

  • first time i ehard thsi song was the live ver on youtube.. amazing how he instils a dark riff in a love song!

  • .. fantastic..

  • This is my favorite song from a cuddly time I'll never forget with a person who lives in my heart .....I will never forget this time! Thank you Paul Mc Cartney!

  • fkn amazing. i only stumbled onto this after listening to lennon's 'Beef Jerky' on the walls and bridges sessions here on YT

  • one of the best....

  • It's pretty obvious Paul was to referring to the holy plant (Cannabis)... He stated on an interview that this song was an ode to pot... Fucking rules.

  • @leathertool. You're right, Paul wrote this song as a love song to John & wrote it in the way John would. In his later years, John wasn't crazy about the sound of his voice & he would cover it up with synthesizers and shit. Paul recorded this song in the same way. Listen closely to the lyrics too, simply beautiful.

  • @LedZep0624 Not true

  • @LedZep0624 He didn't write this as a love song to John, he's not gay bro. He wrote this as a love song to his wife Linda

  • @gobluebuddy actually Paul said in a recent interview, that this song was written as kinda what the beatles you to do, and the meaning "let me roll it" is to John basically saying heres a joint lets smoke it and be friends, but yes im sure its about Linda as well.

  • Yes... Henry McCullough was member of the Grease Band...

  • sounds like a lennon song

  • @leathertool thats because it was Paul McCartney who wrote most of the beatles best stuff, so actually what you mean is that Lennon's stuff sounds like McCartney

  • @RichieWoods001 He means that it sounds like a lennon solo song.

  • @leathertool Check out Beef Jerky by Lennon!

  • @leathertool NO WAY, IS PAUL, JUST PAUL, AND THE LIRYCS ARE POETRY, ITS AWESOME!

  • @leathertool

Rather a lot of Lennon songs sound like IT , 'cause he was more dependent on McCartney's melodic sense than anyone admits nowadays.

  • @leathertool Many songs John took credit for were written by Paul

John didn't have half the talent Paul did for writing, Paul made a foolish agreement in the early days to give them both credit for all songs.

  • @GenMata

that mite be right for melodies and harmonies.

but if u listen to Lennons soloworks you realize that his lyrics express so much more than mccartneys.

He puts the words way more sensitively.

Thats why they made such a good couple in songwriting.

And honestly who gives a crap about credit you get for your personal songwriting when playing in a band that expresses freedom love and equality? thats a modern idea of the music business in my opinion.

    Peace x

  • @musicnlove91 The music industry gives individual credit for song writing.

Lennon was passionate about things he believed. Many of Johns song were very repetitive.

Paul was more of a joker and abstract with his lyrics but music was everything.

Paul was the one who brought many instruments to the songs.

    He was more creative musically.

The Split proved that Paul was the more creative one.

He was the wealthiest musician for decades according to guiness book of records.

  • @leathertool

Lennon released an instrumental called Beef Jerky the year after this that had parts that sounded quite a lot like the guitar in this one.

    Both songs are great however.

  • @leathertool It should, Paul intentionally sung it in the style of John Lennon as an affectionate tribute. =)

  • @leathertool Your comment just always tops every video. :) Indeed my friend you are correct. Lennon always made the good beats.

  • Henry McCullough?Wasn't he in The Grease Band ,solid rockers in their own right-that backed Joe Cocker? If so ,Paul really can pick them . He is every bit the producer in the studio -as well as on stage!

  • Babba Booey!

  • My dad always plays this riff on guitar... Great song

  • This was the song and album that showed Pal Mcuteney might just make it without the Beatles. Memories of dancing close.

  • Oh thank you so much Wayne! Remind me soooo much of being little in Guyana! Ever so innocent days!

  • lol why are there pictures of stripper heels...
