  • This is funny- I like the goofing around.

  • Actual misheard lyric: it's not the side effects of the COOKING!

    rehearsal footage = awesomeness.

  • Hey ya: all you Robbies, Gagas, Biebers in the world! Look at THIS!!! This is musical history, this is real stardom, this is real genius; this is a David Bowie! - Look, listen and go home!

  • Fuckin' God-like . . . the greatest piece of music Bowie ever created!

  • Lots of cocaine...

  • hey carlos......................... SHUT UP

  • @kjsh987

    he vas only following orders...

  • my first show here in cleveland and one never will forget

  • Surreal........Outstanding artistic comment.......Thankyou

  • I too saw this live at Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto. One of the greatest shows of my youth.

  • Earl was on the record Stacey from Toronto,Canada,of course, was hand picked for the tour...David also used my friend Tony Springer for a later project...all love!

  • I re-live that night in 1976 in Toronto,Canada...our entire high scholl of 2,000 kids were there...the Hells Amgels had 2 entire rows, young children's classrooms with parents...lord i'm in tears ...we went with 10-12 friends 28th row center...Kraftwerk music to start our palates. then the eyeball slicing scene of the Salvidor Dali film...Love to all...

  • @TruthAxe this is a rehearsal for the tour, not a concert performance , this tour was critically very well recieved & the statio to station tour is very highly regarded , it ain't the finished thing is it ? just rehearsals for the tour. like it says "final dress rehearsals" & for something that happened 35 years ago you're either old or don't know what you're commenting on.. you write like it's the present not from 1976 .......

  • 74...76 classic bowie... insperational raw coke fuelled rock that many bands have tried and failed.

  • 1983- the old-forum-montreal,,, i was there reds-122-seat no.1,,, wow.......

  • fuckin intro makes my skin crawl... whos the guitarist?

  • @leonakita Pretty sure it was Stacey Heydon, who replaced Earl Slick (who laid down the guitar tracks on the original studio recording). I think he was soon shortly replaced, himself, soon after this by Carlos Alomar. In any case, I really think it's Stacey Heydon.

  • @Mineav carlos alomar played rhythm guitar during this tour and is playing in this very performance -his are the backing vocals you hear- alongside the soloist, stacey heydon, who played during every date of the tour. it's tragic you don't even know the basics.

  • fuckin Belew intro makes my skin crawl

  • I would sell my soul to the devil to have seen Bowie on the Station to station tour. Or as it was billed .... The isolar tour.

  • Go, Stacey!

  • Sorry Stacey, it was you! Earl was gone...

  • I was there...grade 7, 90 lbs , feathers and a Levis jean jacket, incredible lights, David blowin sax and smoking Gualoise, Alomar and Slick wailing, Angie stageside in a red dress, DB in Brechtian Black and White and what the hell are those guys smokin next to us? and Dad's picking us up. A life changer...Love DB and always on my desert island! he is a magician and always throwing darts in lover's eyes.....

  • My God! He was really very "thin" at the time O_O

  • @Mongalz its called cocaine mongalz....he hadnt come off it yet...he would right after the tour....

  • @mralmeister1 yes I imagined.. well glad he came off it at last :)

  • @Mongalz me too...hes still here...saw him on the reality tour and it was an awesome show...he did THIRTY songs, I couldnt believe it!

  • @mralmeister1

lucky you!! I was too young.. and I "discovered" David B. not so long ago.. about a year and a half maybe.. so I couldn't go and see him anywhere.. where are you David?! we want you on stage again! I bought a dvd of the reality tour, yes he was fantastic! and what a great band!

  • @Mongalz yeah it was the third time I had seen him saw him in 78 then again in 83....from what I understand hes been having health problems as well as concentrating on his family right now...at some point he will probably be back...my only hope is that he wont be like all the other "classic" acts and charge 200-300 a ticket for the good seats....

  • @mralmeister1 I hope it too, I would like so much to see him live, but obviously my parents won't give me so much money for a concert .. '78 and '83 YOU ARE LUCKY!! XD I envy you! :P

  • NO THATS IS STACEY HEYDON ,FROM TORONTO,CANADA...DAVID 'HAND-PICKS' ALL OF HIS GUITARISTS FROM TORONTO,CANADA ONLY....PERIOD.

I WAS THERE IN 1976 KIDDIES....MET 'LA BOWIE' TWICE AND HE SLAPPED MY BEAITIFUL ASS ONCE PRIOR TO TAKING THE STAGE AT MAPLE LEAF GARDENS IN APRIL,1976...I DIED THAT DAY...CAME BACK TO LIFE...

    HUGS,

    GEMMA

  • 3:33 funny !

  • There is a photographer in front of the stage. Do you know about any photograph shot at that night? I've been searching for weeks and found nothing so far.

  • The crack up is about the best thing ever.

  • I so much hope to see Nassau Coliseum or any other 76 concert as a whole film ^^

Think White Duke is just so interesting character somehow, and I've heard that this is maybe his best concert..

  • SO MUCH BLOW

  • I saw this tour. Awesome....I'll never forget in San Diego "The Cox Arena". A bus party from Pico Rivera drove to party on more. This song & "Stay" ...what a bad ass song live. I was never the same after this tour. It just gets me all the time.

    Such a Funk/Rockadelic song.

    I do <3 Ziggy too !

  • best bowie ever

  • that guitar player is so seventies! he's got the tight pant/shirt combo with big hair and A MOUSTACHE. AWESOME!

  • Earls Court - Thin White Duke tour - what a blast - thanks for bringing this one back!

  • I love this period in Bowie creative activity.

  • did they just record the rehearsals but not the shows?

  • Im gonna have him for breakfast tomorrow....=)

  • WITH TONY KAYE... GREAT!!

  • Bowie duets with himself - clever stuff. If it was anybody else they would have said he was miming.

  • @stinkalloy the second voice is from the bassist on the left

  • @PyroclasticMind i really think it's carlos alomar. why would it be george murray?

  • @mellobbello well it's one of the guys next to him as far as i can see and i ment our left not his, but thanks for the name.

  • You know a song is great when you think it's 3 minutes long and its actual time length is over 10 minutes. The Thin White Duke is awesome! He's my favorite Bowie stage persona.

  • I saw this tour in the Montreal Forum in '76.

I'd pay anything to relive that night. Living in Montreal, going to art school, watching Bowie live. Can it get any better?

  • so would i, saw the concert in the deutschlandhalle berlin same year.,...., the most magical moments i ever had in any concerts....

  • @GerryJ57

I was there too! Awesome concert and opening with Un Chien Andalou - too freaky!

    :)

  • @Shakingman100

Surreal!!!Slicing her eye with the staight razor.

Which college did you go to?

  • @GerryJMTL College?

I went to James Lyng High School and then on to Concordia years later.

  • @Shakingman100

Sir Winston Churchill High School, then the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts.

Always nice to see another Montrealer.

  • @Shakingman100 Saw this tour in Toronto...my first concert; camped out to get tickets! Could not remember the name of the film that was playing in the background - thankyou. AAWWWesome concert...if I just close my eyes I am there; 12 rows from the front - mesmerized.

  • @skwall2 The film was Un Chien Andalou by Bunuel.

  • @GerryJ57 No, my friend, it's all downhill from there.

  • @GerryJ57 I have so much to thank Bowie for , my art, my name, my life. No , it don't get any better than that.

  • @lifeonmars45 My best moments is in a studio with other artists feeding off of each other.Time just stops. Don't ever ever give up your art.

  • @GerryJMTL Thanks Gerry.

  • @GerryJ57 DUDE!! I was there too!!! Great Days - 17 in '76 growing up on the West Island...

  • @GerryJ57 I'm jealous beyond belief!

  • Bowie as the "The Thin White Duke" himself...

  • Carlos alamor was real spleding here....

    Peter from sweden

  • Why did Bowie ever let Stacey Heydon out of his sight?

  • I hear ya. He's my uncle and I am so proud of him

  • @luvsxjs Really?

  • I will never trade my evening in 1976 live with 30,000 fans in beautiful Toronto,Canada...i was in Grade 11..God we had some of the most groud breaking evenings in my life time..I would not trade this memory for 5 million dollars...Love Ya Dave!

    Dr. Jeff J.

Toronto...we own the Stones, David and many others!

  • Гениально. Да что там, сто раз ГЕНИАЛЬНО!!!

  • Ohhhhhh god..I saw this at wembley stadium in 76. It all comes flooding back.

  • This sounds like something that YES could have written. David Bowie was truly an artist that influence entire generations.

  • In Toronto, the blazing white light did not hit David until he hit the mike...the Rolling Thunder of S 2 S followed ...what a fucking evevning.

    Drive like e demon ,from s 2 s....
