@plusRS Yes, But no. They got different colors... For digital cams green is better, because camcorders have more green color channels... you can use both when the actor have to wear a green mask, like an alien, yiu have to use a bluescreen ;)

@plusRS u can go either really, but if your not using a film camera, (i bet your not) i would recommend green.

you see, digital cameras ( minidv tape is considered digital) use way different kinds of image sensors than film and vhs, and hi8 use. (vhs and hi8 aren't still around) but, like kronblatt said, if you wanna wear like a green costume or something, u gotta go blue (unless you wanna be invisable)

@ZLChannel Well... AE is a sfx and compositing software (like apple motion). Premiere is a Video editing software (like final cut). They're really two COMPLETELY different programs, yet the are compatible, like all adobe software, so compatable, that you can literly export the stuff from AE right to PR.

Theres a free trial of premiere on adobe.com

(they also have student and teacher discounts)

(also student edition is of creative suite cs5, with ALL their software is only 300$!)

@spider1g5 g and b are used, because they are way off from your skin tone. if you use red, or pink, or orange, or any other color, maybe besides purple, your face and arms and skin will partially disapeer. just go with green, or blue! u can find some good deals, i got a 20x10 feet greenscreen for only 40$ (which is WAY under the normal cost) and it works perfectly, and its great quality. shop around!

@GamerzUndead Thats because u can use AIRSOFT, Zach has said it a million times on zach talks back, and so has eric, on q and eric. airsoftmegastore's website has some great airsoft guns for a low price. They work great as props! just make sure u do some research before buying one though.

One of the "basics" is lighting the greenscreen as evenly as possible another is having the subject far enough away from the surface to eliminate or reduce green spill. You fail to mention how those are key elements. It easier to get it right in camera than to have to fiddle around in post. Try crafting a DIY segment that aimed a little higher than the high school level.

Don't know what they used but all you are looking for is a green fabric that is a solid color (NO PATTERNS) and it must not be shiny otherwise you will have problems other than that you will be fine
