  • much better sound with new pickups

  • Dang, thats a nice difference. Wonder what they would sound like on a squire. Yes, I said squire, SO WHAT!

  • @martin10921 I reckon it would probably make a great difference - they're relatively cheap so I think it would be worth trying out!

  • i recently installed seymour duncan spb 3 pick ups on my tokai p bass, and i have to say that it's improved the sound and tone of the bass. Did you ever consider the spb3s? very high output pickup and versatile plenty of low end.

  • @Grun1410wald the SPB3's are ones I'll probably consider in the future! glad they're working for you :)

  • deeper

  • @aryagamis I agree!

  • @sidheswar100 not quite sure what you're asking?

  • @marcreevesmusic what do you get with the pickups (pots and cloth)?

  • @MrHatenoobs just the pickups!

  • WAY BETTER

  • @Yahweigh Yup I think so too now!

  • have you tried the vintage one.. SPB-1??

  • i think its more funk then punk!!!

  • @MrHatenoobs Yeah fair point, can see why you'd think that

  • For further comparison/ live sound search for "JGR parsons", this vid contains a Warmoth bass thats wired up with the same Seymour Duncan SPB-2 and SJB-2. EQ is set almost flat on the pre, NO tone knobs on the bass, recorded with a Zoom HD hand held camera and played through some very nice equipment.

  • @parsineo cool, will check that out!

  • Did you check the specs on the Seymour Duncan site for the SPB-2 before you bought them? They're actually the only Precision pickups they make that actually BOOST mids, not cut them as you said in the vid. This is probably why you find them "wooly" still? Sorry I'm a stupid American who isnt familiar with wooly. If you want a more scooped mid, use the SPB-3. If you want a slightly scoop mid, use the SPB-1.

  • How would you compare these to Bartolinis or Dimarzios? would love to hear your opinion, no homo

  • @NicolasLTY I'm not sure to be honest - I don't have experience with either of those - sorry I can't be of more help!

  • Yamaha bass! good choice Marc! my favorite bass player has a signature yamaha bass Billy Sheehan. Nice choice on the pickups too. Sounds good bud.

  • @reddracken Cheers man :) Yamaha make great instruments - I love my Yamaha Pacifica - they're affordable and well built. I'm pretty happy with the new pickups - they sound a little woolly but I think overall it's a definite improvement.
