and it's not nonsense having a speaker on the teradrive - if you have a VGA monitor chances are it won't have speakers, so you wouldn't be able to play megadrive games without headphones.
@sirinferno That isn't what I was reffering to as nonsense, I was saying it in reference to the image being black and white (which is the fault of the TV) - I did go off on a tangent there though so that is an easy mistake to make, this is one of the disadvantages of not scripting this stuff.
wait, you're in the UK, right? Don't you have SCART? If so, you could've made an Adapter cable that adapts the Sega AV AND the RGB socket to one SCART plug.
