  • 5:41 Pardon me

but it managed to out do the Mirages which were way faster in the Falklands and shot them down with no loss to the Harriers....

  • Stiil so cooooooool!

  • just face it enbgland is the best at everything warfare related. :)

  • SKYGUY03 ...Are you a child in grammer school?? Britain has nothing to the with F-35.

  • @duplex2411 You might want to actually read up on it before posting that. It's being primarily developed my Lockheed Martin, with technical and financial assistance from the UK, and designed to meet a specification of the USMC, Royal Navy, and several other nations. The UK is the sole "level 1" partner. And with everything we get from there, we'll probably tweak it ouselves once we get our hands on it, like the AH64s which America attempted to buy back from Agusta Westland after improvement.

  • Why does the American get all the credit for the joint strike fighter when it was developed by Englend, Denmark, Tyrkey, the USA and a few other countries.

It's not fair that the American get all the credit!

Btw. The harrier was developed by the UK and not the USA as many people think.

  • Hey so i hear your gonna retire the harrier jump jet soon. I'll have one!

  • I thought the Yak-38 Forger was the first super sonic VTOL aircraft.

    See watch?v=3mhPjJJ-QWE

  • 7 killstreak- Harriers standing by

  • I'm still very proud that it took over 40 years for the harrier to be replaced. But the f-35 is an awesome achivement, plus us british helped develop the engine system :)

  • @TheStig3566 It's a great concept for close support but I always wondered how practical it is for really rough, unprepared landing areas because of the danger that ground debris would pose to the engine. Anyone know?

  • the f35 is an anglo american project any way the electronics were deined by bae systems

  • 9 countries are involved in the development of this aircraft mainly through funding.

  • i wish they would give us the non supersonic planes when they retire them

  • The Sea Harrier has beaten the F-15, F-5 and the MiG-29 in mock dogfights. I think I'm also right in saying that the JSF can't use its nozzles in air combat like the Sea Harrier can.

  • Call me British patreotic, but I think the Harrier rocks, how many years has it taken America to come up with something like it? The F35 can go super sonic, but the Harrier is as old as my Dad, so come on! Auto pilot is cool, but the harrier takes more skill, I knew a harrier pilot, and he rocked, try harder because I'm not impressed.

  • 1) "patreotic" is spelt Patriotic.

    2) Us Brits have ordered 138 of these to accompany our lovely 2 new carriers, due to enter in 2012. The harrier is outdated, and if Iran make a move before the F-35 comes in, we're dependant on the U.S.

  • America's need for a vertical takeoff jet was not a great as the UK's. American carriers are twice the size of British carriers and can support more capible supersonic aircraft. Still the Harrier did it way before we did, nice work.

  • Well actually our carriers were built FOR the harrier.. we could build them longer if we wanted to.

  • I was looking for a decent video about the Harrier Jump Jet and this video was fantastic! But the F-35 is something else altogether. Awesome.

  • i wish pasenger jets could hover so they wouldnt be so hard to land!

  • The Harrier is my favorite plane. Nice to have a comment ain't it? 10,859 views and no comments. So I thought I'd add one.

  • The wright Brother's baby sure has grown!

  • nice.
