@yashoesandsox1 That's the algebraic symbol for moles as a variable in an equation. It's also used to denote principal energy levels in quantum mechanics. The actual unit abbreviation is mol.
I signed in to my youtube account, just to say thanks.. so thanks, if I would've been shown this visually in the first place.. it would've saved about 4 hours of frustration and confusion
im taking an online chem course with a professor who is extremely uninterested in helping any of her students. you have taught me all of the material!!
Mark, Thanks so much for your awesome teaching instruction. You make Chemistry fun and easy to learn. I give you a major part of the reason I have an A in my General Chemistry Class in College. Thanks and ps... Love the Cat videos too.

You have such a quirky, and fun personality. I enjoyed watching you throughout the molarity series videos. You have helped me sooooo much. Thankyou, thankyou, thankyou. I want you as a chemistry teacher so much!
thanks!!!!!!! GREAT HELP!! =D I was all left out in this topic but you made me understand it in just 9min!! I wonder why I cant get it from my prof in two hours in our class >XD
@MarkRosengarten That is all my book gave me, no lie. But I did figure it out. I got 4M*30mL/180mL=.067M. My book just gives the uestion and answer, I have to show how to solve the problem.
@ssj7warrior They didn't give the formulas of the acid (like HCl) or the formula of the base (like NaOH)? Or even identify which was the acid or base? Not a textbook I'd ever use. :) Good answer, though!
@MarkRosengarten In some problems they will give the compound. The book is called " Laboratory Mathematics: Medical and Biological Applications Fifth Edition" By Joe Bill Campbell and June Mundy Campbell, page 163, problem number 176. I don't know if you have the book or have access to the book but there is where it is, lol.
I love your videos. You are the best teacher I've ever come across. How can we watch all your chemistry videos. I've arleady subscribe but everytime I click on your name, it won't let me because it keep saying the playlist is private. I wish I can watch all your chemistry videos. You are sooooo good at explaining things. Thank you so much for having these videos.
Thank you for this video. It helped a great deal. Now can you do a video using these problems as examples?
1. Normal saline solution is 0.9% NaCl. What is the molarity of normal saline?
2. Convert 500 mg/dl of glucose to moles per liter.
My professor is smart but likes to do the longest math you can do and it seems you have found a way to make it more simple. Thanks so much and look forward to viewing more videos.
THANK YOU making this interesting and easy to understand(unlike my chem teacher) i actually feel good about the regents now that i watched about 20 of your videos
I just realized you have your watch on the right hand... maybe it's because i was CONCENTRATING so much on the video.
P.S very helpful video.
