these mmorpgs usually have stories for the player and character which would have to be considered and would be applied to all players regardless of which character they chose (goomba, koopa troopa, plumber, royal knight, etc). for a villain it could be getting up to be bowsers greatest and most trusted minion. for a hero it could be there is a prophecy of a hero and the good guys may think your the hero (it is also strongly hinted by the prophecy's description, by your apperance, etc).
i seriously suggest you watch gaogaigar (if you havent). its soundtrack is more than reason enough to watch it. the soundtrack has music that always pumps my blood and gets my heart beating (its more effective than a defibrillator!!!). its about super robots. also dont think its a rip off of voltron just because the robot has a lion head on his chest (i hate it when people think anything with lions in anime is ripped off of voltron).
nintendo doesn't seem to care much for mmorpgs because they make enough money just selling a console the gamesbecause they will be selling the new upgraded console afterwards
but if they did make a mmorpg they should revolve it around zelda and put puzzles in the dungeons
That would be wonderful! I actually thought of something like this for Sonic and Zelda awhile back. A Mario MMORPG didn't even occur to me. And your idea about building it into the console is great. Nintendo needs to seriously consider ideas like this. Another awesome idea that comes to mind is a Nintendo theme park (preferably about the size of Disney World). Yet, Nintendo doesn't seem to want to do any of these things right now...

Heh, if this actually happened, and if every time you typed something it would appear over your head, and if there was emotes, like in-game emotions, I would say "GO WEEGEE! GO WEEGEE!" and wait till someone was so annoyed, they would try to beat the crap outta me. But I'm pretty beast at any Mario game, I play for like 3 minutes, BOOM! pro.. I think this sounds awesome, but you should get this for free once you get the internet on the console... Because until you get the internet on the "Revolution", You wouldnt really be able to do an MMO...
how about a game called nintendo universe where youll be able to choose whatever nintendo game universe you want to be in then be able to interact with people in other universes (LOZ, Mario, etc.) then unlock those universes to explore that would be pretty freakin sweet o.o
@foxboy1305 welll it would probably be better off as an mmorpg smash brothers play style wouldnt have as much potential as an mmorpg would and most fighters are player versus player and im sure most mmorpgs are cooperative. That and smash brothers brawl has an online play but its mediocre and the connections usually horrible or theres virtually noone playing or it could just be my case.
@Pyroground or have all the Nintendo characters in one game and you have to be a hero at the beginning and once you save the world you get new characters to help you so say you are Link you save Links world than you get Zelda tan you got to the world of fire emblem and so on

The only thing about this idea that makes it impossible, it's way too limited. Yeah, I assume they could find a way to power up the bowser grunts, but still, the enemies are incredibly weak.
Wow, This is a really great idea. I've shown this video to pretty much my whole family, and i dont think i got a single person to dissagree with this.
The NPC (Non-Playable Characters) would be all the characters that are not a species, except for koopas. The NPC should assign you various tasks that come with rewards. And neither one of the sides wins, that way the game will not end. I suggest the Npcs would not be seen too often.
I'm kinda in the process of making a Mario "D&D" that kinda reminds me of this (or this reminds me of it) I've made a Final Fantasy one, too, and have ideas for Zelda, and Fire Emblem, and some rough thoughts for Pokemon, and Kirby, as well........yeah, I'm a super nerd that has way too much time on his hands, but hey, what I'm sayin is, this could be done, and SHOULD be done, it would be so bad-ass, I'd play it all day long :)

IDEA!! MINIGAMES!! MarioParties!!!!! And upgrading your toon after an xpac would be awesome! Say you start a basic Koopa Troopa, after xpac, gets wings for a Paratroopa, thus giving flight (limited maybe?) This is a quailty idea that Nintendo would be stupid to ignore, send them a direct line dood, they HAVE the money to do this Peace Bro

EPIC! if they really made tht... besides it should include every nintendo game, u can make ur own character, there would be mini games, and also there would be like SSB battles as a way to increase ur fighting skills, u can have ur own house (or castles) and decorate them, and this game should be rated T for teen cuz maybe teens wanna curse? idk... and maybe there would a kid version for little kids with more kid stuff... im just sayin... whoa... too many ideas in my head 0_0 btw EPIC IDEA!!

how about a game called nintendo universe where youll be able to choose whatever nintendo game universe you want to be in then be able to interact with people in other universes (LOZ, Mario, etc.) then unlock those universes to explore that would be pretty freakin sweet o.o

@foxboy1305 welll it would probably be better off as an mmorpg smash brothers play style wouldnt have as much potential as an mmorpg would and most fighters are player versus player and im sure most mmorpgs are cooperative. That and smash brothers brawl has an online play but its mediocre and the connections usually horrible or theres virtually noone playing or it could just be my case.

Why are there so many dislikes? a mario mmorpg would be fantastic, the only one i've ever heard of which i'd consider playing tbh.
The idea obviously needs a bit of fleshing out, like in terms of actual gameplay and what you do minute to minute, which i guess is what people are mainly having negative comments about(?) Seriously though if they can't see the scope for this that's their issue :).

koopa: change the color of the shell,give em glasses or shades helmets. hammers as weapons. differents kinds of hammers,and axes
toads:change the color of the mushrooms and clothes. different kinds of boots as weapons for jumping just like mario or you can switch to use fire balls instead

XD And about 3 or 4 non-online games :D The people that created my favorite MMO (who are Korean peoples~) was planning on making a version for the xbox360 but it was cancelled and I was sad D:

This is an awesome idea! Bbut let us pick our character because I'd be mad if I got any character but Yoshi <3333 I'd totally be a Yoshi and start my own business giving rides on my back, LOL. And yes it would take alot of money and development, but it's such a cool idea... And the fact that it would be a built in feature makes the system itself worth more.

The only thing about this idea that makes it impossible, it's way too limited. Yeah, I assume they could find a way to power up the bowser grunts, but still, the enemies are incredibly weak.

The NPC (Non-Playable Characters) would be all the characters that are not a species, except for koopas. The NPC should assign you various tasks that come with rewards. And neither one of the sides wins, that way the game will not end. I suggest the Npcs would not be seen too often.

I'm kinda in the process of making a Mario "D&D" that kinda reminds me of this (or this reminds me of it) I've made a Final Fantasy one, too, and have ideas for Zelda, and Fire Emblem, and some rough thoughts for Pokemon, and Kirby, as well........yeah, I'm a super nerd that has way too much time on his hands, but hey, what I'm sayin is, this could be done, and SHOULD be done, it would be so bad-ass, I'd play it all day long :)
