I respect our military, especially the Marines, there's something about them, that is so special to me, Duty, Honor and Country, is all about USMC,Brave men and women protect you and me. Real heros I say, they will never leave a soldier behind HECK NO I say. Semper fi "always faithful" their motto always, the few the proud the Marines, they dont accept applications noway, only the elite I have to say. Brotherhood 4ever, Marines never back away. ferocious in battle, and God Bless the U.S.of A!!
Sux to be them, they still have their "Go-Fasters'" on. Thats gotta be up somewhere around 1st, I don't remember any water (except for a glorified ditch) back by Third... then again, that was 10 years ago for me.
You Understand. You Understand. You Understand. Yes the fuck I do now stop marching us in stupid drill all day so you can get a trophy you pricks-Universal sentiment Recruits at PI.
The parking lot beside the parade deck is called the grinder (or at least it used to be called that.) I don't think this video was shot on the grinder either because I don't remember any trees anywhere near the middle like what's shown in this clip. It's been 10+ years though, so I may be wrong.
Dude, anyone can drill, dont stress 'bout it, I'm telling you now, basic drill will be the easiest thing you'll do. You just get used to it, like icingdeath said, its muscle memory, you'll be able to do it with out thinking.
A bunch of mind controlled idiots, turned into robotic murderers, nothing glorified, heroic, respectable or brave about that, fighting for the bankers, who dont give a fuck about you or your family, sad to say you are all victims of brainwashing..why marines are all psychopaths?they go to fight the war of someone else, and their girlfriend or their wifes are to fucked with others in that time..the truth hurt,i know
JEWSPOWER, somehow i doubt you would have the balls to say that to any of their faces, or mine. cuz i have seen more spine in a jelly fish, and more guts in a ten year old you pussy boy
I think that is, cause I think there is a third building like the ones in the background we just cant see those are the buildings where the Band at PI practices I remember hearing them warm up all the time on our way back from PT
Hahaha no that swamp water gave me a bad case of the mudbutt the first week, I remember having a DI yell at me to get my ass out of there and he started counting me down he finally left when I yelled "This recruit can't sir!" as my ass exploded audible enough for him to hear.
they are Phase I training for Inital Drill, i was Plt 2045 and graduated July 18 2008 and we won final drill and our senior DI promised to show us a movie if we won... never did tho
Boot camp was such a waste of time. A lot of stupid screaming and drill. The training was only 12 weeks, not 32 weeks like the British Royal Marines. This crap hasn't changed since the 1950's. You fire one rifle for a week. Big deal. They need to step it all up; this is the 21st century. HQMC = Can You Hear Me, Now?
God this is what Im afraid of when I join, Im not worried about the PT but the drilling and marching part have me scared as shit, Iv never down either in my life.
Drilling is taken VERY seriously. When I went through MCRD SD (3bn, k company, plt3057), I remember that the most horrific part was the "mini grinder." We would push all of the beds in the barracks to one side and drill, drill, drill for hours, practicing rifle movements. Screaming, pushing, slapping (to "correct a movement") for hours at a time. Usually we did this on Saturdays, Sundays and rainy days. Good luck at boot camp!!!!
I was a Drill Instructor at 2nd RTR at Parris Island in the mid 80's and I can tell you this. All you have to do is pay very close attention. Have a highly motivated attitude, give 110% and don't be afraid to take charge and show leadership and you will do fine. Close order drill has it's purpose and what it does is bond you all together to work as one fine tuned machine.
Thanks for the motivation sir, My Dad is a Marine so I know I have it in me and Im just going in with the attitude of not quiting, luckly my cousin who is going in for Recon and will be there with me so that will help.
Well I wish you the best, Recon will come later when you're cousin is in the FMF. I had my Recon training in Okinawa in 79' . You had to be screened to get into a recon unit. I can't stress enough the need to master your workouts to the point of pain. In both long distance running and short wind sprints and most of alllots of weight training. Do not go in there fat as it will hinder you. Lay off any smoking or drinking heavy.
I know I sound like a broken record but as a former DI,I cannot stress enough the type of workouts now that will push your endurance to the limits. I had so many privates that washed out cause they went in and spazzed out during the first weeks of 1st phase. They'd fall out of runs and couldn't do 3 complete pull=ups. They weren't prepared. When did your Dad serve? I was an 0311 my whole tour except for my Drill Field tour. Grunt forever baby! I loved being in the field.
He served during Nam, Im on the way to ATL right now to train and meet my new recruters. I'll be back wednesday but thanks again for all the advice, I'll prolly get back at you when I get back if thats alright. Semper Fi
Let me give you a tip. Ask your recruiter for a Marines Guidebook and the next few months study repetitiously like a hard charger and also push yourself to excell physically especially in upper body workouts and running and you'll be a squad leader for sure and hopefully graduate with rank and dress blues. Nows the time to give it your all.
Your exactly right Primeralives, Im actually going into bootcamp as a PFC and hopefully I'll be the guy helping out and not needing help. Im not quite there yet physically, but I will be in about another month, Im about as mentally ready as I can be. Thanks for the motivation though.
To the Right in the 1st Battalion PT Field. During Drill if you were acting like a Knucklehead or Recruits who were straight Booger our Senior would order one of our Green Belts to take Recruits to the Running Track which is all Sand to get Smoke Checked. You can't the PT Field though but I miss those Days in 1999 at Parris Island. For the Booger below this is Not San Diego its Parris Island. MCRD San Dog is Good to Go though I was out there for a month doing some Training.
hell yeah, tho if you went to the Track, you must've been 1st or 2nd BTN, cause back in the #rd Herd, all we had were the Pits... when were you there? I graduated 3rd BTN Kilo Plt 3096 November 19th 1999
I got to the Island on the 27th of October 1999. I was 1st RTB Alpha Company. You graduated a few weeks after I got to the Island. When I got there the Sand Fleas were still out like Crazy and then it got Cold in December. I did Team Week at 3rd BN and I'll admit over at 1st and 2nd we're in the Open. Over at 3rd you're surrounded by those Trees and all day I saw Recruits getting Pain put in their Body. Alpha Co has a Good Rep on the Island but 3rd BN has always had good Reputation for years
Im not to sure what about this video makes you think its San Diego but you are WAY wrong Dayo. We had NOTHING that looked like this at MCRD San Diego. If you are on the Parade Deck at MCRDSD there would be buildings all around you. You have the Squad bays facing one way and offices on the other side.
