Actually, it's not new. In the Netherlands they did it years ago. Search for 'Kajem - fanfare' and enjoy! But still well done, it's nice to listen to!
wow! That is an escellent version of that great organ classic! I always thought a drum beat would sound good in the background of that song. That would be a great version to play at an ATOS chapter meeting. Thanks again for posting!
Wow! Carlo Curley commented on your video! And I have to say I agree with him completely. Let the critics panic but this is a great new adaption of some great old music. Keep thinking up crazy ideas like this and you'll go far indeed.
Eric: A great friend in Sweden just sent this to me and I've listened to it several times as I've been writing a piece for my website. Wow! The energy generated by that drummer and your good self is thrilling. Sure, dear Lemmens is probably spinning around in his grave as though skewered to a rotisserie(!!), but who cares. Diversity is one of the strongest spices available to those of us who play the organ and my hat is off to you and your colleague. WELL DONE! Kind regards, Carlo Curley
ok... as someone who has played the Fanfare for years, i have to say... I LOVE THIS PERFORMANCE! yeah, yeah... purists hate it... (i think that's part of the appeal for me) but I would guess that Lemmens would love it too!
But I must say, that is most likely the ugliest organ console I have ever seen.
ericfan20, ur truly amazing! I wish I could play the organ n like u!

Too bad the organ part was so butchered. I'm kind of shocked and disappointed in this rendition. Lots of mistakes.

And people say there is no place for the organ in modern music? This a GREAT idea and GREAT performance. I'd like to try this with Bachs Gigue Fugue

Thanks! I'm very sure that the Gigue Fugue will sound fantastic with drums!

I agree that the console is kind of ugly, but it sounds great, and it has very nice touching too.

Great piece well played, but for God's sake, what possessed you to add drum kit??????
cellodudex 2 years ago
Totally agree! That was just plain awful! Great organ sound, but the drum kit ruined everything. Some things should never be mixed...
vidarfa 2 years ago
he is taking a great risk
he is trying to do something that no one has ever done it before
it's the crossover of an organ (a very old and classical instrument) and a drum kit (a more modern type of instrument)
some ppl might like it and some ppl might not
he knows that and yet he has the guts to do it in a public performance
there will be another concert
and Eric will add a keyboard and a guitar
