I have 2 real hamsters and LOTS of Zhu Zhu pets, and my real hamsters love to play in the Zhu Zhu Pets Sets. Zhu Zhu Pets should not compare to real hamsters, there is too many differences. You're "Nutters". Hamsters do not die within months. They can live up to 4-5 years, providing they stay in good health and have good care. Obviously some situatios occur that can shorten their life, but that does not make them less of a good pet. I'd rather look after a life than a piece of plastic. By saying people are sinking low, that's ignorance on your behalf. Hamsters are fantastic pets to have. Look up Chmurka the hamster on here, see what I mean.

I have to disagree. In order to "keep up" with these Zhu Zhu hamsters, it is infact more costly than a real hamster. For example, a home made cage costs next to nothing and is your own personal cage no one else has. The toys etc are cheap as is the food. Heck, real hamsters love playing with toilet rolls.

I think a real hamster is probably cheaper, softer and taking care of something is a good way to learn responsibility. besides, those things are ugly. I best they're mechanical on the inside, so they're also probably not very squishable like a stuffed animal. FAIL. :)
except...no, because it's not like it spends 100% of its time in there, only bad people do that. you can't keep a pet rabbit loose in the yard, something would eat it. you can't let a pet hamster run around without a ball, someone would step on it or a pet would eat it. in the wild they get eaten. because they're a prey animal. is it bad to keep fish in a tank? pets are an unnatural thing, but we have them and so I keep them wisely. :P
I want one. My little Hamtaro ran away when he got out of his cage. But then, he came home and I was really little when this happened so I was almost crying. I asked my mom to get his cage but she said no. Then he left again after three days. I think he has passed on now. This will fill in my memory of him. R.I.P. Hamtaro!

I saw one of these on eBay literally ONE for 2,000 dollars. It's ashame, isn't it? I see them at cvs for 10 everyones right but you gotta be there at the right time or when they restock them ask them to hold them for you i got mine on ebay pretty cheap $10 each but people willing to pay that much are absolutely insane. i have winkie and num nums. adorable and quite entertating!!

If you live in Fremont, CA, the Toys R Us there has the Bundle package with the house, ball, garage/car and exercise wheel plus 2 hamsters for $129.90. Expensive but still cheaper than ebay or amazon. If this toy is a MUST have gift, you can try going there. Not many sets left though.

The Toys R Us I work at has over 300 Zhu Zhu hamsters in the stockroom that they're purposely not selling until the company tells them to. They just lie to every customer and tell them they have none, and when the time comes to actually sell like 50, they send out emails only to RewardZone members who have to print out the email and come exactly at 6 am lol.

Oh my gosh even elmo made more sense than this. Who is in charge of creating the hype over these toys. Sheesh why not get a real hamster....I know I know kids that this toy is aimed at probably will not handle a hamster well, but still I think I'd rather get the kid a wii and work on that hand eye coordination rather than this.
Well I don't know about anyone else but I stimulated the economy by spending a $500.00 girft card from world points so we didn't need money for gifts this year. We can also get things from my coke rewards, and pampers points. So don't assume everyone is spending money all of a sudden especially for a dumb toy like this that will probably and up in the trash since it is made in China. Our cat would love it though lol.
Indeed costs much less we buy about a three dollar huge bag of food at Walmart, and cheap bedding that lasts four weeks, and the hamster takes about two months to eat the whole bag of food. So your really paying less in having the benefit of a nice hamster in your home. Our black hamster Nicole is adorable she doesn't bite us at all, and walks around our home using a caged gate you can put on the floor.
My first reaction is buy a real hamster. My daughter has one, and they are really not messy at all. She enjoys cleaning, and feeding it, and she learns about real animals. I'm just afraid kids will not see the reward of having a real pet. This toy just seems stupid to me. Get a real hamster your child won't even think about a toy like this.

Your tiny brain (if you have one) should be able to comprehend the fun and help they are giving the world. Hamsters are living things that do NOT exist for your enjoyment. If you live in Fremont, CA, the Toys R Us there has the Bundle package with the house, ball, garage/car and exercise wheel plus 2 hamsters for $129.90. Expensive but still cheaper than ebay or amazon. If this toy is a MUST have gift, you can try going there. Not many sets left though.

yes I have a child who wants one. Guess what, if you want one you will have to pay the price online at Ebay, Amazon or Craigs List---All because greedy people run out and buy them all up and sell them for three times as much. OR you can wait until after the holidays when there will be a bunch to be had.

I am a Guest Relations Specialist with Toys "R" Us and eToys online, and I will assure you all that these toys have gone under intense testing, and have been found to contain no harmful chemicals. However, both Toys "R" Us and eToys online are Out of Stock on all Zhu Zhu pets and accessories until approximately January 7th. Sorry, but if you haven't gotten one already, you're not getting one for Christmas.

@trainman238 ~ My friend found them at Toys R Us at 3p:m on saturday, and she got back in line 3 times since it's one hamster pet per person, and i paid her 10 dollars for Pipsqueak. I guess Toys R Us got lucky get a shipment in because they sold out in 15 minutes. She is selling Num Nums and another Pipsqueak on Ebay, and She went back in line again at same day and time and got herself a Chunk to keep.

The Toys R Us I work at has over 300 Zhu Zhu hamsters in the stockroom that they're purposely not selling until the company tells them to. They just lie to every customer and tell them they have none, and when the time comes to actually sell like 50, they send out emails only to RewardZone members who have to print out the email and come exactly at 6 am lol.

Haha, yeah.. and contradictory to what I said a few days ago, they're now putting out Zhu Zhu pets every morning (including the 4 new ones), without a line too, just tossing them on the shelf, and they're actually sitting there longer than 5 minutes. Go figure.

Oh my gosh even elmo made more sense than this. Who is in charge of creating the hype over these toys. Sheesh why not get a real hamster....I know I know kids that this toy is aimed at probably will not handle a hamster well, but still I think I'd rather get the kid a wii and work on that hand eye coordination rather than this.

Well I don't know about anyone else but I stimulated the economy by spending a $500.00 girft card from world points so we didn't need money for gifts this year. We can also get things from my coke rewards, and pampers points. So don't assume everyone is spending money all of a sudden especially for a dumb toy like this that will probably and up in the trash since it is made in China. Our cat would love it though lol.

Indeed costs much less we buy about a three dollar huge bag of food at Walmart, and cheap bedding that lasts four weeks, and the hamster takes about two months to eat the whole bag of food. So your really paying less in having the benefit of a nice hamster in your home. Our black hamster Nicole is adorable she doesn't bite us at all, and walks around our home using a caged gate you can put on the floor.

My first reaction is buy a real hamster. My daughter has one, and they are really not messy at all. She enjoys cleaning, and feeding it, and she learns about real animals. I'm just afraid kids will not see the reward of having a real pet. This toy just seems stupid to me. Get a real hamster your child won't even think about a toy like this.
