  • What a great video! At 58 I'm new to this music, but I love it and have been playing banjo since Feb 2011. My next goal is to attend one of these festivals.

  • What festival is this? and Where?

  • @StonethrowersMusic

It's in Mt. Airy, NC at the Fiddlers Convention.

  • @StonethrowersMusic:

    Bluegrass & Old-Time Fiddlers Convention

    Veterans Memorial Park

    Mount Airy, North Carolina

The next one is: June 1-2, 2012

  • reminds me of home... :-D

  • Two to the left of Paul Tooley at 3:00 is Barry Cooper.

  • Tune in first session is Broken Down Gambler. Tune the lefty fiddler is playing at 1:43 is Ten Yards of Calico. Tune played around 5:20 by the young woman and man in line is John Henry.

  • In the jam at 3:19 the fiddler to Bruce Molsky's left is Craig Judelman of The Dust Busters, and the fiddler to Rayna Gellert's left is Heather Malyuk of Streetsboro, Ohio. The guitarist between Gellert and Susie Goehring is Gellert's new husband, Jeff Keith.

  • The tune Joe Thrift is playing with Mark Olitsky and Danny Knicely at 6:25 is Thrift's most famous original tune, entitled "Whiteface."

  • Great video Julie! The Cajun tune is "Tit Galop Pour Mamou".
