i wish i could the version where layne does this live with them. but you can only find it on youtube for about 39 seconds and its mostly a chick interviewing...man i wish i could that concert in my hands id be going crazy
I find it amazing that there's a conversation about the weather going on in the comments section, rather than three or four grown men having an Internet fight about whether Justin Beiber or Mark Lanegan would win in a dick swinging contest.
You guys are both credits to the species. Keep talking about the weather in your respective locales.
i dunno why but other than this song back in the 90's i just could not get into this band. Probably because there were a bagillion other bands that sounded just like this.
That song was popular with a crowd of party animals who were regulars at the Rochelle Regency Apartments (Tamarus & Rochelle) in Vegas '92 and a pair of Screaming Trees boxer shorts was involved in a tug of war between the guys and dolls.
@deleonj I use to live there for a few years um, it's like a super rural area with one main downtown street that's maybe a mile long. Then there is some houses and schools around that :)
@RipTheSystem33 Candlebox were part of that scene. From Seattle, started around '90, the members grew up going to Malfunkshun and Mother Love Bone and all the other bands concerts.
@sirlegendhead It does&it's louder.I just started using a computer & I mostly listen 2 music almost xclusively on YouTube.I had no idea how insidious Vevo was until vids I liked were taken down 4 content violations. It seems 2 me like they've taken it up a few steps now.I remem ber in the mid-90's my friends at G.T.(georgia tech)bitchin' about paying 4 downloads 2 MP3's,no free access& REM giving access.I wonder what Katrina thinks now(besides the mortgage, another baby & her marriage)about Vevo.
@TakerDogg Oh blow me, TakerDogg. In fact, better yet, why don't you Tak 'er Dogg and let 'er dog fuck you while you're at it. Ah shit. You're too dumb to figure out what I just said. Screaming Trees and the entire grunge era was the perfect marriage of the REAL message of the Doors and Velvet Underground with the brutal honesty of the Stooges funneled through the major talent of the 90s to all the bullshit we are living in now, called real life.

@iTzzEuphoriaaaaaa You're right, hahaha. Indie rock sucks. And all the good punk bands are from the late 70s, 80s and 90s. NoFX and Bad Religion still kickass. What are we left with as far as underground music? Christian Rock? Fuck that. Rap? Underground rap is the same as what's on MTV, of course they can write better verses, but the whole Fuck Bitches and Pop Guns message is still there. So. You're right. The fucked up thing is that I'm 14. And I know.
One of the best songs ever made...I still remind the day I listened to it for the first time...I was like running to get a pen and write down the name of the band

I've lived in EUROPE(Greece mostly)& if you can fight & die in a war at 18,you should be able to drink.I prefer it there as I'm sure you do!
@apokryphos117g Well, I live in Israel. And managed to get to Germany through a foreign exchange program for students who excel in English. Me and my best friend were the only ones who were picked out of the entire school as far as I know.
Anyway, I've grown quite accustomed to beer and have been living with it for quite some time now.
Many kids in my country find a way to get alcohol, mostly by asking grownups to buy them. I personally find it more appealing to walk in and buy it myself.
@rahagbab I still can't believe you're only 16! The remark you made"finding it more appealing 2 walk in & buy it yourself really spoke a lot about your character. Hard 2 believe a 16yr.old could have so much insight.?,what are you doing in Israel? My mate has been there 2 visit family, closest I've ever gotten was CYPRUS 4 raves-weird but probably not4U The middle-east breaks my heart.A good friend BIBI grew-up in Lebanon but he is Palestinian.I have opinions on the situation but not here.
@apokryphos117g I was born in Israel and it's my permanent living arrangment. I hope to one day go to some place colder and more laid back, like Scandinavia or maybe even settle in Germany though I doubt I would enjoy living there permanently.
I'm quite pro-Israel, I think it's a blessing that there is a country in the middle east that is willing to climb out of the bog of intellectual repression and join the civilized world. It's a shame that many people don't understand our struggle.
@ManOfGomau I think that you are overestimating the severity of the situation. our conflicts are a means of survival rather than propogating an ideology. We are the most hated and persecuted country in the middle east, just for being jews and always have been, and yet we've progressed more than any of them.
The U.S. pitched in, some might say, but you have to understand that Arab oil money matches the U.S. pound for pound, it's all a matter of how you use the money, you see.
@rahagbab I really don't think it's because the Israelis are Jewish, I think it's more the problem with the Gaza Strip. Didn't the Israeli president refuse to have talks about a Peace Treaty?
@ManOfGomau On certain occasions, yes we did refuse peace talks. But only when the conditions were to outrageous.
I hate to sound bigoted but the great muslim majority overseas is very antisemitic and biased towards muslim ideology. I praise those muslim who oppose these views but those who do not simply try to mask their contempt for the jews by using the Gazans as scapegoats, I can assure you.
Jews were hated by muslims for being jews since the dawn of time, you can check that out.
But it has to be a good atmosphere, I don't want to be freezing my ass off, sitting on a bench next to an apartment complex or something, not that I would know how things are over there. Detroit is my only point of reference atm =P
I'm from Lansing and I can tell you without a doubt that Detroit is a virtual shit hole. Hell to be honest you'd probably be safer in the west bank living next door to members of hamas than you would be in some parts of Detroit. (especially around 8 mile.) Well you'd probably see said neighbors if you moved to dearborn but i digress. There's a running joke here in Michigan that we have 2 seasons. winter and construction.
@sakonhagakure Good to know, if there's two things fucked up with Israel it's that A. It's in the wrong place, and B. you'll fry your ass off for three consecutive seasons. The only time that I find tolerable is mid winter.
On the other hand, we have some damn good beaches over here.
@sakonhagakure most of ohio is the same way. two seasons, winter and summer (or construction). and yeah seriously, there are some parts of the united states that probably rival parts of afghanistan in terms of level of danger and being a freaking warzone, for example, go for a walk after dark in some parts of youngstown ohio. well, don't, unless you have a death wish.
@apokryphos117g As a matter of fact, I do own a facebook account as well as a google plus account (obviously). Either way, I don't really stay in touch on either one, but I could use the extra company.
I only hope that you won't get offended if I don't reply to your comments right away.
sounds good on paper but most 18 year olds are stupid when it comes to alcohol. (hell most 21 year olds are stupid when it comes to alcohol.) Back in the 80's it used to be legal for 18 year olds to drink but too many teenagers would get behind the wheel and drive drunk and wrap themselves around a light post or kill some family.
Best part of the Screaming Trees in some ways was you could always tell it was Barrett Martin on drums. He had a very distinct style - he tended to avoid the snare drum in a lot of ways.

I personally find it more appealing to walk in and buy it myself.
rahagbab 8 months ago

It's a shame that many people don't understand our struggle.
rahagbab 7 months ago
@rahagbab ...but did Israel have to stand on the Palestinians heads to do it?
ManOfGomau 7 months ago
@ManOfGomau I think that you are overestimating the severity of the situation. our conflicts are a means of survival rather than propogating an ideology. We are the most hated and persecuted country in the middle east, just for being jews and always have been, and yet we've progressed more than any of them.
The U.S. pitched in, some might say, but you have to understand that Arab oil money matches the U.S. pound for pound, it's all a matter of how you use the money, you see.
rahagbab 7 months ago
@rahagbab I really don't think it's because the Israelis are Jewish, I think it's more the problem with the Gaza Strip. Didn't the Israeli president refuse to have talks about a Peace Treaty?
ManOfGomau 7 months ago
@ManOfGomau On certain occasions, yes we did refuse peace talks. But only when the conditions were to outrageous.
I hate to sound bigoted but the great muslim majority overseas is very antisemitic and biased towards muslim ideology. I praise those muslim who oppose these views but those who do not simply try to mask their contempt for the jews by using the Gazans as scapegoats, I can assure you.
Jews were hated by muslims for being jews since the dawn of time, you can check that out.

if you really want to freeze your ass off come to Michigan.
sakonhagakure 7 months ago
@sakonhagakure I sure hope so!
But it has to be a good atmosphere, I don't want to be freezing my ass off, sitting on a bench next to an apartment complex or something, not that I would know how things are over there. Detroit is my only point of reference atm =P
rahagbab 7 months ago
@rahagbab
There's a running joke here in Michigan that we have 2 seasons. winter and construction.
sakonhagakure 7 months ago
@sakonhagakure Good to know, if there's two things fucked up with Israel it's that A. It's in the wrong place, and B. you'll fry your ass off for three consecutive seasons. The only time that I find tolerable is mid winter.
On the other hand, we have some damn good beaches over here.
rahagbab 7 months ago

@apokryphos117g
sounds good on paper but most 18 year olds are stupid when it comes to alcohol.
