@vedaram1 Double no. It occurs when the septum secundum is too short to cover the ostium secundum completely, a congenital birth defect which allows for blood shunting between the atrium after birth. Instead of looking on a youtube forum for answers, try a google or wiki search.

Atrial septal defect. im 22 years old and its just now that they've detect i have that kind of congenital heart disease. i need to be operated (ASD path closure) as soon as possible because mine is severely dilated according to the doctors here in the Philippines. sadly the surgery i need is too expensive and my parents cant afford to support my operation.
