  • Oh well all has been rectified. we won the game that mattered, and that's all that matters!!! ROLL TIDE ROLL!! #14 NC!

  • @TheJessicasStuff Na Lil girl, im talented at being Rite. but Yeah Alabama did win,& Yeah i was wrong, i'm not an LSU fan like i already said, i just hate those elephants. You see Alabama is just a team for Bandwagon fans, most fans just like them cause they're good, but yur supposed to root for ur team no matter if they suck or whatever

  • Yea @thejessicasstuff roll tide. Goin for the 15th championship

  • @wrightcole007 Woot woot! REAUXLL TIDE!!! Hehe.

  • Good Lord... Y'all still ranting? I'm so glad tonight will shut you all up... After Bama's 14th Championship.

  • Six minutes of slow motion doesn't make up for the fact that a 6'6", 270 pound tight end went up against a 6'2", 208 pound safety...and didn't come up with the ball. You make the play, or you don't.

  • @TheHonorableChad: Size makes no difference. Tyran Mathieu is about half a foot shorter than Dre Kirkpatrick and took Kirpatrick down in the first game (albeit with an egregious cheap shot from behind).

  • @mylsuhat I'm researching this at the moment. It appears so far that there is no standard for if someone is actually "in control" of the ball. It might be a judgement call, in which case the ref may have decided that he had to have pulled the ball to his center mass to be "in control". Tough call.

  • @TheJessicasStuff Ah, I see what happened. It was a dead ball since Julio touched it while out of bounds. What's LSU's thing with trying to claim dead balls?

  • @TheJessicasStuff Is something wrong with you? You yourself said a kicker missed 4 field goals. Newsflash hun one was blocked because the shortrange kicker attempted a 50 yard field goal dumb. The other 3 were pulled extremely wide right. In kicker lingo when a kick is pulled that far right he is overextending his leg trying to add distance meaning he doesn't have the leg to make a field goal that long anyway. Saban panicked and should have punted. Game would have turned out the same either way.

  • @zhsfootball72 I put pulled right I meant left. He overkicked.

  • @TheJessicasStuff Saban was completely out of his realm. He wants to be in control and Lsu is a threat to that. He normally beats teams into submission but he really struggles in close games as evidence by lsu this year, lsu last year, auburn last year, south carolina last year. He forgot how to and he will continue to suffer on January 9th. Saban is one of the greatest coaches ever. It just so happens that LSu is in his head big time. Watch the irrational decisions he makes January 9th.

  • @Billywayneable They won't sweetheart. :)

  • @rmarkconger Punting would be Special Teams, hunny, not defense.

  • @SpeedoInc Richardson is "The Beast" hunny.

  • @TheJessicasStuff ummmm no hunny i dont think thats his nickname

  • Honey, they are LSU fans... of COURSE they have no idea what they are talking about. Poor little window lickers, let em keep imagining Reid was touching that ball. After all, losing the BCS Championship is going to hurt, let em think they had one cool moment. *patronizing smile and baby talk* Geaux Tigers. :)

  • Someones mad..... GEAUX TIGERS

  • STTD...GUMP's

  • There is a whole lot of butthurt in this video and description.

    GO TIGERS!

  • He should've been a little stronger to catch and hold the ball. Pittiful little GUMP Mr. Williams is. He's a pittiful GUMP!!!!! The GUMP's have nothing better to do than cry about a loss. Can't wait to meke the GUMP world cry again on Jan 9th. It's going down GUMPS.......LMAO!!!!!

  • @lsufan861 Good God darlin', please discover spellcheck.

  • Maybe if williams actually held onto the ball before hitting the ground he would've been awarded the catch. Every official that has reviewed the tape ( from Mike Pereira to Steve Shaw ) has said it is without a doubt an interception. Unlike Patrick Peterson's interception two years ago.

  • Roll Tears Roll !!

  • This ISSSS an INT.. First: The Bama guy had the ball in his grasp.. Second: He was about to hit the ground when Eric Reed also had his hands on it.. Third: They were both on the ground and both had there hands on it, and the ball popped out.. Fourth: IDK the rule because you didn't put it in your little rulebook on here..but from my understandings it seems fair if they both have their hands on the ball, and it pops up... Whoever gets it (Eric Reed)...their team should have possession of the ball

  • explanation why it was an int, first Bama guy caught the ball, ok. While he is falling threw the air Reid grabs part of the ball, ok. Then when bama guy hits the ground the ball popped out letting Reid grab the ball which makes it an INT

  • @thebrandonadam2 You're assuming! There is no video evidence what so ever that "the ball popped out"!

  • @thebrandonadam2 You're assuming! There is no video evidence what so ever that Reid ever had any control over the ball until both were already on the ground!

  • @thebrandonadam2: A small problem with your argument: When any part of the body other than hand or foot touches the ground a player is down. You can't strip the ball from a downed player.

  • Also I'm pretty sure that some of these are photo shopped. In the second angle when his "Elbow is down" it is below the turf line. The pictures after that aren't lined up right either. If you really photo shopped a video to prove your point you should win the most desperate loser of the year award.

  • @fisher1112 You're assuming! These photo's were extracted directly from the original video and the only editing done to the photo's was to resize them to make them larger in order to see them more clearly.

  • "Reid is clearly trying to slow down Williams Contact with the ground"

Your right in the hundreds of a second in the picture Reid thought to stick his leg up to slow down the fall of a guy taller and heavier than him. In fact he is so strong that he did it while his right foot was off the ground. Face it 9-6. Get a better running game and maybe you can hang, because apparently you can't beat us through the air.

  • @fisher1112 Actually, Reid's attempt to slow Williams' progress is much more noticeable in full speed video. Nobody twists their leg up and under somebody naturally while jumping, unless they have brain damage and want a broken leg.

  • lol u mad

  • Anyone else find it funny how a safety who is half the size of the Tight end catching the ball is able to "steal" it from the Alabama player who is twice the size of himself

  • @wakesurfer930 Not really, between the force of impact and the interference provided by Reid's arm, it's completely understandable. Mathematically speaking of course.

  • @TheJessicasStuff Uhmm okay. . . . .

  • Oh btw the way 9-6 all that has to be said. Y'all were lucky it was that close the first time. Prediction for january 9th Lsu 24 Bama 10.

  • @zhsfootball72 But this comment makes no sense. A kicker missing 4 field goals from distances that weren't that far outside his career long is unheard of. So, assuming normal play and performance, he would have at least gotten two out of four, putting the game's final score at Bama 12-LSU 6. LSU got lucky, and won't on the 9th. Sorry darlin'.

  • Wow this is intuitive. Alabama never loses the ref took the game. Fact is the tight end is soft reid wanted it more. Get over it funny how les miles is the mad hatter but saban was the one doing stuff out of his realm. Kicking field goals out of the kickers range, numerous trick plays(none of them worked) You think maybe saban panicked when they got to the redzone and the brakes got thrown on i do. lord saban crapped the bed. Miles played it conservative and relied on his all american punter.

  • @zhsfootball72 I can agree with this view of Saban this game. I'm still wondering why Bama had timeouts left in possession of the ball, and went into OT...

  • Bottom line.....................Reid came up with it in the end! It was reviewed and everything.........so stop whining babies!

  • This is football babies.............stop crying!

  • @B3Z3RK1 bama beat their selves in that game, lsu wont be so lucky the next time!!!! stats tell the story. bama led most the entire game. with our defense lsu is in trouble come jan 9

  • the video in slow motion says the same thing. lsu was lucky on this play cause if the refs would've watched it a little better then it was clearly bama ball. worse case scenerio bama ball 1st and goal from the 1.... and yes it was a great catch by mike williams. even espn said the next day that lsu got away with one.... thing is if they make the right call here bama probaly wins the game cause lsu was not going to score a touchdown, thats for damn sure. jan 9th our defense will make them pay

  • lsu is cold so stfu. bama mad that they lost.

  • Pictures are deceiving my boy! Stealing a ball? ROFLMBO!!!! GROW up!

  • @puppylove70052 watch the video in slow mo.... espn said lsu got a gift. bama will kick their ass jan 9

  • 9-6

  • Keep crying. If this truely wasn't a pick, it's payback for PP7's clear Pick. BUUUUUT AFTER FURTHER REVIEW it was most certainly a pick.

  • @DOUCHEBAGSTOOKMYNAME it wasnt a pick dumbass

  • yawn...two years ago. patrick peterson intercepting the ball and it being called an incomplete pass when there was a clear HOLE in the ground where he dragged his footn... thats worth looking at. eric reid outmanned williams, the refs called it right because while they were in mid air the ball was moving around. look at the video, not pictures, cuz pics can be deceiving...

  • @B3Z3RK1

name 5 occurences in which alabama got the 'easy way out," i mean even i agree the play and the game is over and thats that, but ive watched alabama football my whole life and ive seen them get good and bad calls, just like EVERY other team

  • it doesnt matter if he has possession with 10 thousand hands on it in the air, he never had a foot on the ground during that possession, so while in the air reid can do whatever he wants to get that ball. great call by the officials.

  • @B3Z3RK1 your foot???? no that not the rules, he was down as soon as his back, butt, leg or whatever hit the ground first. learn the rules

  • let me tell you something bama fan who posted this video, obviously you have no clue about football, let me explain to you what really happened in that play. As the bama receiver was falling down he had possession for a split second but their was no body part touching the ground, as anyone can see when his back hits the ground, the ball is being fumbled around therefore making the ball a live ball until one player gets possession, the bama receiver never had possession while touching the ground.

  • I had not seen this close up , I thought he had the ball , he was down ...the game change play of the yr , this game came down to that call ,.there are alot of folks in agreement on that ..but it sets up a great rematch ..

  • I looked at the video posted by "Cajunomics" to watch for the points made by smaxcom, claiming that the ball was moving and Williams was not in possession. The clear slo-mo shows Williams with both hands on the ball coming down, and Reid wrestling it from him after he was down. This was a total blown call by the officials, and inexcusable with the clear slow-motion replay.

  • Continued! The ball was moving as he came down with it...yes even a quarter a turn or half a turn puts possession in jeopardy. You can freeze frame it all you want where it looks like the ball is standing still in his hands, but one of the reasons we have video is to see things move! This ball was moving! As it was moving it never hit the ground and the player who ended up with possession was wearing purple and gold! Get over it and get ready for a real Louisiana butt whooping come January 9th

  • @smaxcom

thats not gold, thats yellow...dont care what anybody says lol, classy comment btw

  • You guys need to take off the tin foil hats and put down the pipe! Watch the play in real time and you realize that no referee would EVER invoke that rule on this play. It's a F'ing joke to try and say Reid was "holding" him up and preventing him from coming down! Both players fell straight to the ground! Again watch it in real time...or even half speed for you slow Bama natives.

  • Nice work, Lynyrd. Roll Tide!

  • @fishdude20022001 Thanks!

  • @jawnybnsc redneck, huh? Wow, your intelligence precedes you. Did you actually attend the university? Contrary to popular belief, not all of us are "rednecks" (as you called me) and furthermore, most of us that actually attended UA do not fit that stereotype...but I applaud you for being so creative in your own right.

  • @dktide91 Yes. I'm an LSU graduate. Class of 1991. Contrary to popular belief, not all LSU students are cajun. In fact, cajuns are typically a fairly small minority at LSU. I'm just responding to your statement in kind.

  • @jawnybnsc ah, yes, I didn't realize I had ended with that..my apologies on the cajun comment...good luck on Jan 9th...may the best team win

  • @dktide91 No problem. We all get carried away from time to time. Most people in Louisiana aren't really insulted by being called "cajun" or "coonass". The "corndog" thing is kinda lame and tired, but most LSU fans have made a joke of it at this point. I'm not a big fan of a rematch for the National Championship, but if that's the way it goes down, then Bon Chance!

  • @jawnybnsc Reid jumped in an attempt to knock the ball free from Williams hands and failed Reid never had both hands on the ball at any point what so ever. Williams had a "firm grasp" on the ball from the time the catch was made until he hit the ground. Williams posterior never even touched the field because of Reid's leg and knee he intentionally placed between Williams and the ground. The law of gravity is on my side. LOL

  • @SkynyrdLynyrdYaw Possession or a catch, is not made in the air. That is by rule. When Williams goes to the ground, he does not have a firm grasp on the ball. In fact, you can see in the video and particularly in the stills that as he goes to the ground the ball is flat in his left hand and then he only has his thumb and index finger on it just prior to hitting the ground. In other words, he was losing the ball on the way down and never regained control.

  • @SkynyrdLynyrdYaw I'm watching again trying to see what you're seeing regarding Williams' flight. You are living in a pure fantasy world if you think that his trajectory was altered in anything but the most trivial and insignificant way. To say it was an intentional act by Reid is another stretch of your imagination. Applying the rule you reference is to torture it beyond all recognition and meaning. You really should talk to some officials before continuing this delusion.

  • @dktide91 Here we go with the homer nonsense. Our slick DB got away with one? What does that mean? Our DB made a fantastic athletic play. That's what defensive players do. They hawk the ball and they take it away from the offense. Are you saying Alabama's defensive players, out of a sense of fairness and integrity, don't make every effort to take live balls away from opposing offenses?

  • Patrick Peterson 2009

  • @SinbadSE Julio Jones ate Peterson for lunch every time they played...don't even bring that dude up...he was good against Miss St and Ole Miserable maybe...

  • @dktide91 Yeah, you're right. Peterson sucks. He'll never make it in the NFL.

  • @dktide91 Peterson's hydration/cramping issues beat him far worse that Julio... i don't remember Julio ever scoring on PP

  • Watch the play in real time. None of this idiocy stands up to even a modicum of scrutiny.

  • @jawnybnsc These are real time photo's of the real time video. There are three different points of view that were captured on video and all three must be used in order to get the most accurate outcome of what really actually happened. The actual replay official obviously didn't even watch a single view much less all three.

  • Complete misread of the rules. A player cannot gain possession of the ball in the air, thus the reference to rule 2.4.1. Williams never possessed the ball. Period. End of story.

  • @jawnybnsc ARTICLE 1. “In possession’’ is an abbreviation meaning the holding or controlling of a live ball or a ball to be free-kicked. "It may refer either to player possession or team possession."

    a. A player “gains possession’’ when he secures the ball firmly by holding

or controlling it while contacting the ground inbounds. The ball is then in

    player possession.

    b. A team has team possession:

Williams caught the ball and landed on the ground with both hands on the ball......

  • @SkynyrdLynyrdYaw Having both hands on the ball is not enough. The ball has to be secured or in control. Williams is losing control as he goes to the ground, and at no point does he ever regain control. In fact, as he's on the ground, his right hand comes off of the ball and only the thumb and index finger of his left hand is in contact with the ball. In the next instant, the ball is in Reid's chest and in his grasp. INTERCEPTION.

  • @jawnybnsc The ball was secured by Williams and his "firm grasp" on the ball and once contact is made with the ground the ball is dead. The reason Willaims right hand comes off the ball is because Reids left shoulder landed on Williams arm and forced it off. The ball then remained in Williams left hand and on his chest not moving. Reid reached in with his right hand and took the ball long after both players were down. Reid never caught, intercepted or recovered a live ball..... .

  • @SkynyrdLynyrdYaw What happens in the air is IRRELEVANT. Possession cannot be established in the air. How many times does that have to be explained to you? It doesn't matter why his hand came off the ball. There are two teams in every football game. The defense tries to make plays as does the offense. You should factor that into your thinking. The ball was not in Willams' left hand his left thumb and index finger are on the ball and it is continuing to move the entire time.

  • @SkynyrdLynyrdYaw It doesn't matter if Reid never caught the ball. It was a live ball and the play is not dead because Williams never possessed it and the ball never contacts the ground. That's what was ruled on the field. That's what was ruled by the replay officials and that's what the video and the still shots so clearly show. You can continue to bounce back and forth between these two fantasy scenarios you've concocted, but for your mental health, I'd recommend you try to find closure.

  • @jawnybnsc The so called "bobble" occurred when Williams back first made contact with Reid's leg and knee. The pictures clearly show that the ball is in Williams control when he makes contact with the ground. The so called "replay officials" you are referring too was Ben Oldham notorious at making both bad calls on and off the field. In fact he has been suspended before because of his bad calls. Case Closed.

  • @SkynyrdLynyrdYaw Honestly, I don't care who the replay official was or what he's notorious for. The fact is, on this particular play, he was absolutely correct in his judgement. You must be looking at a different set of photographs, because the ones I'm looking at show Williams losing control of the ball just prior to going to the ground. After he goes to the ground he has even less control as his right hand comes off of the ball. Did you try that experiment? What happened?

  • @SkynyrdLynyrdYaw I want you to try an experiment for me. Go grab a football. Lay on your back and place the nose of the ball in your left hand between your thumb and forefinger. Now try to pin the ball to your chest and stand up with it. Report back what happens.

  • @jawnybnsc I stand behind the facts presented in this video and had a worthy official other than Ben Oldham been working the video replay booth I assure you the call on the field would have been overturned. If you have a desire to allow another person to place his knee and leg out on the ground as Reid did, for you to fall backwards on go right ahead. I will not be held accountable for your actions.

  • @SkynyrdLynyrdYaw You're absolutely right, another official may have made a different call. They would have been wrong. It was a very close play, but was correctly called on the field, by the replay official and was confirmed by the head of officials. As for this silliness about Reid's leg, I have no idea what you're talking about and what significance it has. You're reaching and you're torturing the rules beyond their reasonable application.

  • So you had to slow the play to 1 frame per minute to see any indication that the player may have been slowed by Reid from hitting the ground? I can't imagine how the officials could have possibly "missed" that call.

I think you're really misunderstanding the intent of that rule, anyway. If you believe that's being held up, then they might as well blow whistles as soon as any receiver catches a contested ball.

  • Interception? I don't think so. What a rip-off (literally). But what I really can't believe is that Alabama got a bad call at home. Bama's always had the best home cooking. Until that play, that is.

  • @ashnwood12 You Sir Are Wrong! The ball was never "bobbled" that was an assumption by the CBS commentators. Reid caused the ball to move by trying to strip it with his left hand but failed. Had Williams ever lost control of the ball if would have went in the air and it didn't. The ball should have been declared dead the very moment that Reid tried to slow Williams progress to the ground. The Rules are posted above and in the video.

  • @SkynyrdLynyrdYaw Wrong. Read the definition of possession and of a catch.

  • @SkynyrdLynyrdYaw So if the ball is moving in your hands, it's secure and you have control of it? Wow. That's an interesting interpretation. I would think that if the ball is moving in your hands it is neither secure or in your control.

  • @jawnybnsc Reid managed to get his left wrist or palm between Williams right arm and the ball. Reid was pulling upward trying to break Williams hold on the ball but in doing so the ball turned or pivoted about 1/4 of a turn but remained in his "firm grasp" of both of Williams hands and or fingers.

  • excellent video showing what everyone knew when it happened. Both players were on the ground when he stripped the ball, so the play should have been ruled dead with Bama ball 1st and goal on the 1/2 yard line. Doesn't matter now though. You have to roll with the officials calls regardless of who they favor. Just gives Bama more incentive to take care of business in the only game that matters....The NC game Jan. in New Orleans! RTR

  • @bedanobub The ball should have been declared dead before contact with the ground.

NCAA Rules 2011-12 Ball Declared Dead

ARTICLE 3. A live ball becomes dead and an official shall sound his whistle

    or declare it dead:

    p. When an airborne pass receiver of either team is held so that he is prevented

from immediately returning to the ground (A.R. 7-3-6-III).

  • @SkynyrdLynyrdYaw So you're saying that Reid held Williams in the air by jumping and having his knee come into contact with Williams back? You're making an ass of yourself now.

  • @jawnybnsc "Reid prevented Williams from immediately returning to the ground." The moment Reid planted his feet extended his left leg and knee and Williams made contact with his leg and knee the ball should have been declared dead. It's that simple!

  • @SkynyrdLynyrdYaw You tell yourself whatever you have to. In all my years of watching football, I've never seen such a bizarre technicality called, and neither have you. The referees are given discretion to interpret the rules and to say that one player's leg contacting another player before he hits the ground constitutes a dead ball is stretching and distorting that rule beyond reason. The fact is, Williams does go to the ground in a free trajectory.

  • @jawnybnsc The officials appear to be able to get around any rule and in this case ignored them all. The Facts are that Reid using his left leg clearly and intentionally interrupted the force of gravity and Williams from immediately returning to the ground. Furthermore these actions that Reid took could have caused Williams spinal injury, neck injury and or death. The rule was written to protect an airborne pass receiver.

  • @SkynyrdLynyrdYaw That may be one of the most creative and hysterical delusions I've ever seen any Alabama Fan cling to. Truly remarkable.

  • @bedanobub WRONG. On a pass play, the play is not dead until someone gains possession of the ball, or the ball hits the ground.
