Dont bother with the Dreamcast Wheel for Daytona USA 2001... Like the arcade machine each gear has it's use for drifting so setting up gears 1,2,3 & 4 on the A,B,X & Y is the best way to play. A gear change of 4,2,4 can not be done with paddles.

I keep sending SEGA mails about a possible Daytona USA 3 but I think if fans want a DU3 they'll have to make it by themselves. Yep people, I think a fangame is the best way for Daytona to do a comeback.

I'm not quite sure about that. Fangames aren't that great for the most part. I mean. sometimes they can be done extremely well but those are few and far between. The thing is that it's hard enough for people to finish a game made with ripped 2D graphics. And when they do, only a few fangames are really good enough to stand on their own.

I can't imagine what it would take for people to make a 3D game, considering how hard as it is for people to make games using ripped 2D sprites.

Maybe someone could make a mod or something off an existing 3D game but even then that wouldn't be quite the same. Also, mods seem to suffer from the same problem probably to an even greater extent. Most never really make any progress or even make it out of the testing phase.

But anyway I digress, if someone out there really feels dedicated enough and can actually pull it off, this would be a good idea. There have been some good fangames (Sonic 3D Robo Blast, for example) so I'm not saying it's completely hopeless or impossible, just something I wouldn't really put too much faith on unless someone could prove to me otherwise.
