  • Its a funny feeling when you see something you had forgotten for (what?) 45 years or more. Suddenly Im back in the living room with Mum, in front of our old Bush black & white TV (push- button tuning, 2 channels only). Lunch is finished, and perhaps after "Watch with Mother" we'll go to the park, as its a nice afternoon, and Mum will sit in a deckchair while I play in the sunshine. Sometimes, nostalgia can be so powerful it can leave you breathless

  • Nuns on skateboards! :-)

  • Thought I had dreamed this up.

  • It really did exist. Saw this as a kid!

  • This is so great! I love them! Far too young to remember but I'm a new fan!

  • oh no whats happening im watching this and my eyes are welling up.

  • This takes me back to my childhood. I loved watching the Pingwings.

I've spoken about them to many of my old school chums and no one has ever heard of them let alone seen them.

Thanks for posting this short clip, it brought back happy memories; especially the music!

  • I don't know anyone else who remenbers the pingwings either. I am not sure why. Perhaps TVs were rarer back then - we couldn't afford one.

  • OMG SO COOL. Remembers PINGU

  • This is a delightful clip :)

  • they are so cute =)

  • How wonderful. I always new they really existed and that I hadn't imagined them!

  • Oh, this is heaven. So few remember the Pingwings. I'm transported!

  • brilliant,great tv..

  • HA! what's he doing on the washing line???

  • The original Pingwing was owned either by one of Peter Firmin's family. When Oliver Postgate first saw it, it was hangimg on the washing line having been washed as the cat had peed on it. They obviously thought that it would be jolly to reproduce the washing line in the first episode.

  • I thought I'd never see them again and that I was one of the few who remembered them. What a sad day their creator went today - a man of genius and one who fired my imagination, then continued to take me on wonderful journeys with Ivor and Noggin the nog and then the Clangers and beyond. Thank you for Oliver Postgate my world, and others no doubt, would have been grim and grey without him.

  • How brilliant and charming. I experienced that "remembering-something-from-my-childhood" shiver. It's happening all to often now I've discovered YouTube.

  • pingwings! i'd only heard of this today after seeing Phill Juptas talk about it, but its so cool and cute! I love the way the dad unpeggs himself. I bought the dvd, might see if i can upload them...

  • Ahh Bless! FREAKS :)

  • whats wrong with the pingwings?

  • they're AWESOME..but strange sock things!!

  • what socks there knitted penguins did u not no that? but any way we think alike do you have the dvd of all three series?

  • Hee hee, i know! I don't have the dvd's, was hoping i'd get sent a complimentary one due to all the free advertising i've given! Ha ha
