  • Why is this a related video to "Foster the People" - wtf.

  • I just love your Youtube Channel. It's important that I saw your Video channel as I want to learn more. More power.

  • its all thanks to morons and how people in charge with little intellectual ability ruin everything.

  • My dearest friend was subjected to insulin shock therapy when she was no older than 14. It was the 60's, she had been given a bag of what was probably oregano, but her inquisitive nature brought fear to her loving parents who mistakenly trusted the wrong drs. Watching this brought back horrific memories for her. She would like to hear about others experiences with insulin shock therapy. We'll be watching these comments. Thanks, L's Friend

  • i got tardive dyskinesia from GEODON and lamictal gave me a psychosis, i am dying... psychiatry is a fraud!!!!

  • His story made me cry, it's just awful, once (like three years ago), I wanted to be a psychiatrist, but then I started to investigate to know the differences between psychiatry and psycology, and I found all this fraud, all this suffering and pain.

I'm so glad that I didn't become one of them, my soul would be in hell right now, because this is murder, this is like "raping the soul" like one of your videos say. God, I wish people would open their eyes!

  • The background in this video looks like a scene I remember from Trauma Center, lol.

But yeah, Insulin Shock Therapy was ridiculous.

  • They wouldnt let him up to go to the bathroom..and he was just a skinny guy with joint problems..and the doctors aqnd nurses were treating him in a denegrating way and instigating him toward being frustrated till he had a fit then they put him in straps for two days and he was screeming and a lot of people were just kind of laughing and didnt care..I tried to speak up the best I could I couldnt do anything though as I was in there..tricked into going in there myself..horrible horrible horrible..

  • How obvious can it be that something like this is nothing but harmful. I think you have to be sadistic to participate as a health care worker in this. This is torture..torture to people who do not fit in or who arent compliant with the status quo...Sick just sick..A lot of people dont have a conscience and realyy cant understand why something like this is very bad..and that rattles me quite a bit..When I was inpatient once they had this guy strapped to a bed and he was screeming..inhumane

  • horrific...I was just reading about this on wikipedia...how can anyone be sane when they are put into insulin shock and put into a fitful coma? Nightmarish thinking about this..I cant believe humans can ever think this can help..I read how dehumanizing the procedure was...It makes me want to cry right now.

  • when I was committed 6 years ago (I was barely 15) they gave me two choices;to cooperate with them at a voluntarilly basis(take meds, agree to stay for 6 months for `so called treatment` or to be forced to cooperate by some judge. so what kind of choice did I had? They forced me to take anti psychotics (seroquel) on a daily basis.. (these actually made me hear many screaming voices all around me,I saw strange patterns crawling over the ceilling and was completely stunned, they screwed me up..

  • Absurd. "Insulin Shock Therapy" hasn't been used in years.

  • Well he's an old dude.

Over 100,000 people a year in the US still receive Electroshock.

Believe it or not, a form of lobotomy is still used as well rarely. It's called a bilateral cingulotomy.

  • WOW

  • Indeed

  • It hasn't been common pracetice since the late 40s. It was phased out completely by the early 60s in the U.S.

  • @originpax they give people antispychotics which are just as bad moron face.

  • @rouncer81 exquisite use of the English language there. Without modern anti-psychotics there would be no help available to people who see and hear things that aren't really there, these people would be completely unable to function in society. If you have a better solution for treating organic mental illness I'm sure there's a Nobel prize in it for you.

  • @zeropointorigin i dont need the english language to know i know more about antispychotics than you do obviously. Its totally moronic for anyone to say they even work, and if someone does say that, it means theyve never taken them themself... am i right dick?

  • @rouncer81 if English isn't your first language I apologize. They do work as shown by double blind trials. Your opinion and personal experience do not trump scientific studies. You may well have had a bad experience with a particular anti-psychotic, all medications have side effects. It does not mean all anti-psychotics are bad. Some people feel very sick when they take certain antibiotics, this does not mean all antibiotics are bad\evil or don't work.

  • @zeropointorigin these "side effects" as you call them are PERMANENT PARTIAL BRAIN DAMAGE. ITS NOT WORTH IT.

  • @zeropointorigin Biological theories of mental illness remain unproven despite decades of research. Your referral to organic mental illness thus lacks any firm foundation, though Big Pharma has been most successful in its efforts to turn the theory into cultural myth.

  • @flickad errr...reference; am over-tired.

  • I really feel for you Larry if ths happened at the allen memorial in mintreal When I was there a guy about my age was given an overdose of insulin and died. Earlier he had phoned home to tell his parents to get him out of there . We were eating lunch which was right across from his bedroom. The didn't even have the decency to take him out of his room while we were eating.I was one of 9 people who sued the CIA in the 1980's because they had financd this crazy doctor

  • leonard franks, like anyone who interacts with psychiatry, was seriously ABUSED by the profession. ECT, all of that psychiatric stuff is abuse, atrotious inhuman exploitation of human differences for money and pharmaceuticals.

  • anti-psych is quality stuff.

  • Very interesting, but how does one open themselves up to being in a position and virtually being abducted and attacked in this fashion?? I get up and go to work, for the studios then I go skateboarding.... why would I be abducted and given electric shock therapy? --is it misery loves company?

  • Thank you for sharing your story. It brings me joy to know light is being shed on this barbaric act still going on today. It brings me joy to think this will help a person avoid (shock treatment in the future)

  • Those which are zealous about family members being subjected to, mental health treatment. That is the group which needs to be subjected to ,the most perverse forms of torture. The concerned family members need mental health treatment; as a result of, being overpowered by life's stresses.

  • This is like a dark ages approach to "curing" mental disorders. Maybe they should also try leaching. The "theories" that "treatments" like Electro-Convulsive Therapy (ECT aka Electroshock) and Insulin Shock Therapy are based on isn't just dubious, it's fucking fantasy.

  • It's an attempt to abuse hard science to create pseudo-science and then make that pseudo-science appear to be hard science in order to justify abusing human beings to "cure" or "treat" them. It's all scientific and all you know. Bullshit. The Salem Witch Burnings also "cured" their "subjects" of their "disease".

  • Funny you should mention the dark ages. It actually goes back before that. The Greeks would give people poison in order to induce a convulsion. So the practice is very old. The thing that freaks me out is after 2500 years, we are still doing the same crap and it never once resulted in an actual cure.

  • Thanks for sharing your story. My grandpa had this done once too. He has had major heart surgeries and other medical complications throughout his life; I can only imagine he would have been much better today had it not been for this treatment. Personal stories like yours are the best attack on Psychiatry!

  • Thanks for the info. But I was a bit distracted by your vibrating beard!lol

  • Yea, I did my best to clean it up. The original shoot was very good. :( He's a great speaker though.

  • He is permanently electrified.

  • What a heartbreaking story. That Mindfreedom dot org website has a lot of other personal stories and information.

  • interesting!

  • This is not a history lesson, these types of crimes are on going today across western civilization; speak out against Psych abuse, make them stop!

  • He brings up such a good point: these types of procedures are actually condoned and promoted in our society! These are considered "standard" forms of treatment, however they are very inhumane and denigrating; and we consider Wonderful America to be a free country? Psshh, more like a robotic country trying to fit every person inside the "mold". If you don't fit, you get debilitating "treatment" that will not only scar you for life, but take your little blip off of their radar.

  • That's horrible.

Psychiatry is a crime against Humanity.

The "Anti-Psychotic" drugs, Insulin Shock, ECT, Lobotomy and all the other "treatments" they administer are Felony Assault with depraved indifference.

Every death associated with psychiatric 'treatments' is, quite literally, murder.

They should all be arrested and prosecuted like the psychopathic criminals they are.

  • here here! how do these people reconcile these treatments with their oaths to do no harm? indeed "They should all be arrested and prosecuted like the psychopathic criminals they are"

  • Its odd to me how the boundary for "do no harm" is always moved up or justified by medical practitioners depending upon the public opinion; for example we are outraged when a person is killed by a defective machine, but often the same feelings are there for drug treatments which are supposed to "help" and then these "normal" practices which are actually extreme and yet we are denied a medium for public outcry just because somehow these people are not considered as equal as others...

  • Yeah, the "first: do no harm" seems to be completely removed from modern medicine. It's now shock, cut, irradiate, poison, and see what happens from there. If we come up with a new, deadlier toxin or weapon, you can be pretty much guaranteed they'll put it to use in medicine.

  • Something like 250,000 people die every year in the US because of medication errors. This makes doctors the third leading cause of death in the US.

    "first: do no harm".

Conventional medicine has really lost site of the Hippocratic Oath and psychiatry is the worse offender.

  • Mr. Franks, I have alot of questions for you...what year did this happen, how old were you, why were you in this position? This is so inhumane & really puzzles me. mc

  • I have his whole story on about three hours of video. I'll release little sections here and there and eventually all your questions will be answered.

  • OK, thank you for your reply. Mary

  • I wish I could grow a shimmery beard like that! I'd put those Movember wannabes in the shade...

  • yea, that was my fault for doing a bad job videoing the guy originally. I shot this footage a long time ago but never released it because of this. I cleaned it up best I could but there is still as shimmering beard. Mr. Franks lives on the other side of the U.S. so I can't easily reshoot the footage.

  • I was wondering when you got this footage, I recall him, for more than 15 years he's been a key figure in "anti-psychiatry"... the problem with youtube is when I look up anti-psychiatry: nothing. I've been interested in this idea for a long time, based upon how he has been treated awakened me to so much which has occurred in the name of "mental health"

  • hehe, i didnt really notice, i was more listening to his story and eating my icecream :P
