The night before their was actually a pretty decent sized typhoon that hit Puerto Princesa. We spent a good part of the day helping out on clean up the beach cause some of the shops were destroyed.

@Katytha007 yeah, that beach ("white beach" hahahah) just near the city *is* dirty (natural dirt - mud etc), but there are beautiful beaches elsewhere in Palawan - eg Honda Bay

i don't know how exactly to plan ahead for the good deals....but i do know that you can get some amazingly cheap beach front places for a fraction of what i was paying for the hotel.

hello guys need advise here me and my partner are planning for a week holiday here is it better to go on package deal or just go there like a back packer. is it easy to go around. is easy to get room. and one last thing is it safe heard rumors of kidnapping cases there.

I had a great time there. I felt really safe and everyone was nice to me. Personally if i go back i'm going to be a backpacker. all the best places to stay are soo cheap once you're there. i was sad that i already paid for my hotel once i saw all the beach front places i could sleep for like 10dollars a night.

It depends on how long you plan to stay in the place. If you are on tight schedule, it is better to consult a tour operator to max your time (this is the number of my tour guide, she is very good 09283603595; she is the sister of an officemate). Expect to spend much time traveling from one destination to another. I hope you also enjoy your stay like we did.
