i made this vid in "Abu Dabab". There where many people in the wather, some whith trainer (DiveCenter direcly on the Beach). We snorkeled without a trainer. No problem, we where always direct over the reef.
Yes, it is Abu Dabab. We saw a lot of turtles, but not the dugong. When we where there, they didn`t see the dugong since 14 days (that happens sometime).
Oh yes I saw lots of turtles there while I was diving. Another group of divers with our dive operator (Emperor) saw the Dugong at another dive site further north of Abu Dabab. We missed the damn thing by a day! Unlucky Eh?
amazing footage - i am shopping for a underwater camera.. i think i may get the Lumix Ft1 - it has positive reviews.. any problem with water damage/leakage?
Hi yahz50, i think this ist the perfect camera for outdoor activity. I had no problems with leakage, but you have to clean the camera from saltwater after snorkeling. Buy that thing - the Videos are much better than you can see it on YouTube.

Question, do you have to be with some kind of trainer/supervisor, or can I go in and out whenever I want, like if I was on a beach?

Yes, you can zoom in photo- and videomode. The format ist AVCHD-Light.

Is there any mention in the manual stating you need to service any parts of the camera e.g. gasket/sealing every once in a while?

If you want to use it under water, they propose to change the rubbersealts in the two openings every year.
