For sure I ran o&o clever cache and it eats up at least 900 megs of teh 1 gig alocated in the book. The trouble is you have to take the whole thing appart to fit the ram and that could void the warranty or even worse leave you with a useless pc if you touch the wrong part and get static into it

I installed the beta build 7000 on my lg x110 it's a msi wind clone and it's working smoothly, no lags, and the bootnot that long it's even faster than win xp.

that's the old beta Win7 build 6519 or somthing the new one is Win7 build 7000 i have it dual booted with vista on my toshiba laptop, getting a advent 4211c (uk msi wind) in September.

dude install the bios 1.09 to boost speed really helps!

I installed windows 7 with no dvd drive or usb thumb drive. It's really easy works from linux or windows xp. first upgrade bios to 1.09 so you can overclock by 24% (not necessary but helps with over all time)

partition drive

format drive in ntfs or fat 32

download windows 7 onto partitioned drive

download deamon tools

mount windows 7 iso

then launch from partitioned drive

that's how I did it in about 35 mins on an msi wind 1gb 24% overclocked.

2. burn the ISO to a dvd

3. reboot from DVD and install Win7

The Windows 7 build 7000 beta FLIES. Way better than this, I would def. recommend it. Also boosted my battery life.

That is true build 7000 is going a lot smoother then this build. And the 7000 build has the new taskbar unlocked by default. I don't have the Wind anymore, upgraded to a ASUS N10J but Windows 7 is still going pretty smooth.

Basicly it took that computer 2min and 34sec to turn on. It was still loading Mcafee at the end of the video. Windows still has a long way to go.

Hey how did u get the wireless working? :S I can't seem to get the wireless working on my wind and when I plug ethernet in it still doesn't recognize it so thers no way I can go access the windows update to update my wind.

Yeah, that's what I couldn't get installed. I just installed it on a spare drive, and tried it out for a bit. And for the other people, it is Windows 7, it's in beta! I didn't have the new taskbar, because it was locked at the time. They seem to have cracked it though!

Anyone who has seen real screen shots can tell you that this is NOT Windows 7. It's just Vista with a few mods. Any half assed programmer could make Vista do this. Hell, I could make XP look like this. I'm shocked that Slash Gear actually linked to this fake.
