Yep, worked great. Though I've since gotten a vent-gauge and am rebuilding the device to switch between displaying lambda/EGT/IAT/WMI duty cycle, and song/track information from the carputer.

@ndnihil Great. Nice challenge you're proposing yourself to. You should teach us how to make a simple one, just for pressure. That would be awesome!

You need a background in electronics and programming before attempting such a project. It's not something you can just order parts for, solder together, and stick in your car. If you do have that background, it's a standard HD44780U LCD, Atmel AVR, reading signal from an OEM MAP.
