  • goodness, that explains 2 of europes predicaments, the great plague and serious hygenic problems... disgusting.

  • What does this have to do with the SU-34 Fullback I was looking at???

Oh right: because Russian jets are crap.

  • When one really looks at it, how did these people even make love with each other? Their asses were crusted with dried and unwiped shit, they had no deodorant or toothpaste, they bathed anywhere from once a month to once a week with a primitive type of soap, what kind of shampoo was there, they had to wear those ornate clothes even in hot weather with no AC or fans, and I read where people lost most of their teeth by the time they were 30. Holy smokes!

  • Poor people would wipe themselves with leaves, moss or stones. Better off people used bits of old clothes. They called the loo 'the jakes'.

  • How did they wipe their ass?

  • @redphantom85617 They used the soft down from the bum of a goose. One assumes they removed the down first, & did not hold the whole goose!

  • I get that they weren't very advanced at the time, but it seems like common frickin sense not to throw poop and urine out onto public streets, where people walk, and right in front of your own house.

  • @AWickedMind - Well, that depends on who's outside your house!

  • What did they wipe with?

  • @audgeyp Goose down.

  • what did women do back then when it was that time of the month?

  • @zackysynguitargods GOOOOOOOOOD question!!!!!!!!!! I've ALWAYS wanted to know THAT TOO!!!!! *to the guy's no offense on the grossness* I was told by the elders in my family that they used to sit on cushions for the duration of the "visitor".most likely (i only think),...where needle pointing, and all the beautiful lace work had been created, and ect.i don't know.good question though.

  • thank you for answering. it is definitely something i would like to know.

  • you're welcome,..like i say though,i don't know if that's true,it's what my elders told me.but a place you find awesome info is here on you tube,.type(worst jobs in history) channel(TalkCreativePlanet) pretty cool stuff,.it's history in eras.I think you'll get a kick out of it.i did.cool stuff.

  • ooo. i think i will check it out. sounds awesome. have you ever watched dirty jobs on discovery?

  • :)

I hope you like it!!! Let me know what you think of them. Also if you come across any more era history life ect. ,PLEASE alert me.(love if full episodes :) ,...)

No,.i have seen bits of dirty jobs on you tube.I don't have History channel, not even cable :/

You really can't compare (the bits i seen on dirty jobs) to the worst jobs in history.Example (i don't want give away too much info.Don't want to ruin it for you)They used kids to crawl up,and clean chimneys, kid got 2 big, they fired 'em. :/

  • Another thing women did was just let it bleed through, in Africa and a few other places women were sent to maternity huts where they would have to stay and wait it out. Some tied a rag around their 'underwear'. I think most just let it bleed through and wore dark colors.

  • ohhhhh,.yukeyyyyyyy!!! lol.Don't forget( i don't know about Africa) in Uk,London,.? They didn't even HAVE underwear (they had underwear,NOT "panties"as we say)Panties are reativley new invention.A bleeding woman in those days were considered "dirty"hard to imagine a husband letting his wife cooking, ect. while ms.flow was dripping to the floor.lol.idk.

  • @zackysynguitargods Cloth "pads" or a small cloth sack filled with moss. Sometimes even sea sponges. The used cloths were soaked in cold water, then washed normally in the laundry. Some women today still use fabric pads. Either they make at home, or buy ready-made. They are recyclable, which is trendy now.

  • @zackysynguitargods This is a very understudied part of history, but it is generally thought that linen rags were folded and held in place with a belt or else worn like a loincloth as underwear did not exist. After use the rags would be washed for reuse.

  • @zackysynguitargods idk use cloth

  • @zackysynguitargods

Acted even bitchier than they do today.

  • @zackysynguitargods lots of rags.. and they would wash them out, dry them then reuse them.

  • I still have more questions . . .

How the heck did the ladies at court go to the restroom during the daytime with those heavy, elaborate dresses? Did they need someone to help them with their skirts and undergarments?

It's so hard to find this out this type of information. Any help would be appreciated!

  • I wonder this all the time also! another thing that bothers me.. what on earth did they use to wipe themselfs?

  • i was thinking the same thing.

  • @Lonsoleil LOL,.one of my question were how did the guys in all that armor on the battlefield go potty.Your question is good too.I found out A LOOOOOOOOOOOOOT here,(The Worst Jobs in History )at you tube on this channel (TalkCreativePlanet) really cool stuff.Stuff you dont learn in a classroom, not when i went anyway.Have fun,it's amazing.
