This song inspired so many good people to keep on going when the bullwhips cracked, the bullets flew, when thrown in jails, because when sung from the soul it evokes and unites us in the knowledge we so often hide from in our fast paced, money oriented, politicized dog-eat-dog society - the knowledge of how we ALL can live together peacefully. Don't let them divide us. In unity is our strength.

If this does not move you, then nothing will. I grew up with Pete in that generation, civil rights movement and Vietnam war, and this song, as wonderful as it is, is still as relevant today as it was then. What hope and passion. It just gets me every time I listen to it!!
